Reach's new customer value strategy puts our customers and their experience at the heart of everything we do. As a Senior Software Delivery Manager you'll help us achieve this by ensuring we deliver great value software, on time and to budget.

You'll work with the Head of Engineering to set the strategy and best practices for the Software Delivery team.

You'll work closely with Engineering Managers to take delivery ownership of the requirements set out by the Product Managers. You'll lead a cross-functional team of engineers planning software projects, creating schedules, ensuring the team are releasing updates and overall making everything run smoothly.

Reports to the Head of Engineering. You may have line management responsibility for a small team of Software Delivery Managers. You'll work closely with other members of the Engineering team in addition to Product and PMO team members.

100% home based (UK & Ireland).We can accommodate office workfor those who can commute to our Canary Wharf office.

Key Responsibilities
In addition to your line management responsibility for more junior delivery managers you will also be responsible for the team management of one or more Agile software teams.

We're looking for someone who understands how engineering works. You'll have either come from a development/engineering background or have strong experience of leading highly technical teams.

You will be responsible for fostering a great culture by being a strong role model and demonstrating great people leadership. You must have a continuous improvement mindset and be constantly looking for opportunities for improvement.

  • Overseeing all aspects of software delivery including: Chairing all Agile ceremonies, Project/epic planning, Organising and motivating the engineers
  • Help teams breakdown goals and tasks to deliver incremental value.
  • Assist in defining and continually improving our Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Provide accurate regular status reports.
  • You will work closely with the engineering management team to resolve issues.
  • You'll assist us in recruiting and maintaining the best talent in the industry by assessing CVs, assisting with interviews and supporting your line and team members with career progression
  • You'll hold regular one-to-ones with your direct reports ensuring they're fully supported.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Obsessed with the customer and deepening customer loyalty
  • An expert at identifying ways to improve the customer experience
  • Experienced at line managing and HR best practices.
  • You have excellent influencing and negotiating skills, comfortable working with senior stakeholders to resolve problems as they emerge and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Track record of successfully delivering software development solutions using pragmatic application of Agile development methodologies.
  • A confident and articulate communicator capable of inspiring strong collaboration within an organisation and between teams.
  • Confident at managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A self-starter with a can-do, will-do attitude

Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience of delivering large scale software projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Previous line management experience.
