About the role

Working in partnership with NHSBT managers, the HR Direct team, Organisation and Workforce Development and Health and Safety colleagues, you will provide expert advice on a broad array of key HR issues. From discipline, grievance and performance management issues to recruitment and resourcing, you will share knowledge and come up with creative solutions that will allow our valued colleagues to get on with the important roles they are fulfilling. Seeing to it that we are complying with employment law and national guidelines, you will be a trusted advisor helping us maintain a vibrant and supportive workplace that remains focussed on the health and wellbeing of our staff.

About you

With every day presenting you with a myriad of complex challenges, you will excel in our team if you have experience of working in a busy HR environment in either the private or public sector. As a graduate (Level 7) member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, you will also have:
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment, with the capacity to advise managers on HR policies and procedures.
  • Extensive experience of handling the full range of complex employee relations casework.
  • A good understanding of UK employment law, with a particular focus on how it relates to contractual issues and disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to provide HR training to colleagues at all levels.
  • Good IT skills, with particular emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will also have the ability to produce well-argued reports for case hearings and you will be comfortable working with databases.
  • Time-management and organisational skills.
