The Role

Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides a wide range of services both in the acute and community sector. The Trust became a foundation Trust on 1 April 2004. The new trust has a turnover of circa £ 350 million and employs approximately 3,900 staff.

The Information Services comprises of Informatics, Contract Monitoring and Data Quality teams. Information Services is responsible for providing analytical support and intelligence to both internal and external customers of the Trust.

The Senior Information Analyst plays a vital role to meet National reporting needs for both acute, community and mental health activity of the Trust. Although the role is to be able to cover both acute and community, in the first few years, the post holder will predominantly be responsible for community based reporting.

The post holder is responsible for design, development, production and assisting in the implementation of strategic direction for key national submissions. The post holder acts as a subject matter expert of all national rules for these focussed areas to operational teams. This role requires person with good track record in information analysis either acquired working in the area or able to demonstrate his/her knowledge.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record within the information analytical function and extensive knowledge of NHS healthcare reporting from a provider perspective. They will be a natural leader, with the ability to develop and motivate staff. Due to the evolving nature of information systems, this position requires an adaptable, forward thinker who is not afraid of change. In addition, they will have strong communication skills that enable them to share and simplify their extensive knowledge around the complexities of healthcare informatics.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills (SQL and Excel are essential, QlikView and/or SSRS is desirable); strong interpersonal skills and preferably a sound working knowledge of the NHS.
