About this role

• Manage all capex for Global

• Prepare and manage Global Governance processes including Bookend, BUR etc. For Global work

• Own Global IT Investment Policy, including governance and adherence

• Develop & implement OKRs to inform and measure success of Globals Investment Strategy

• Manage interdependencies between Digital functions and other CFUs.

• Establish Lean Portfolio Office- Maintaining single source of truth for resource, cost, and business outcomes

• Leads retrospective programme/post investment reviews (PIRs) to identify and improve ROI and governance processes.

• Lead on Annual MTP Planning & Modelling (GMC & Efficiencies) process

• Manage all capex for Global

• Right sizing investment categories and affordability

• Demand prioritisation based on delivery capability

• Business case validation and onwards governance

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Technical Knowledge: Domain-specific knowledge of customer, contact and portfolio products and technologies pan-BT

• Experience delivering outcomes across both a wide stakeholder base and highly matrixed organisation

• Technical Skills e.g.

• Demand forecasting,

• Cost modelling

• Investment Governance

• Supply planning

• All delivery methodologies including agile at scale; waterfall.

• Agile Mindset

• Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking

• Stakeholder Management: Influential role, expected to contribute to, and subsequently derive direction from agreed Global & Digital strategy.

• Work directly with MD CIO & CDO, Portfolio Directors within unit and other B level roles across Global & Digital.

• Lead on quarterly alignment planning process and "bookend" reviews with Global / Digital CEOs and their respective LT's.

• Communication: Very strong communicator capable of making an impact, to ensure investment meets current and emerging business and technical needs.

• Transformation: Able to manage long term changes and adapting the unit in line with the business. be confident in managing major strategic changes

• Problem Solving: Must be able to proactively solve business problems that deal with uncertainty e.g. investment planning including location, skill and resource. Also, some problems will be multi-platform wide, impacting multiple services or cross-portfolio solutions.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Demand/Supply/ Resource planning experience

• Investment planning & management experience

• Strong understanding of technology, digital trends and delivery approaches

• Consulting experience and skillsets highly desirable

• Risk and control understanding + Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies a nice to have

• Experience in strategy, strategic change and transformation - experienced in leading large-scale, highly complex change programmes for large corporates, including ability to define, evolve and communicate a strategic ambition and target state

• Thought-leadership - to provide passionate and ongoing input to evolve and challenge the business and so the plan: customer trends, competition, regulatory, business and operating models

• Ability to translate (and update) the ambition into deliverable change initiatives in a prioritised and sequenced delivery programme: working with the business

• Stakeholder engagement and influencing - requiring pan-entity leadership and influencing capabilities, including the ability to drive alignment and outcomes across an ExCo, CEO and Board-level stakeholder population

• Deep financial and commercial literacy - ability to work hand-in-hand with financial teams to define, track and deliver against financial plans at an entity level - particularly capital but also income, costs, balance sheet

• Decision-making and problem solving skills - mature analytical skills and evaluative / prioritisation judgement when handling factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations - excellent excel skills

• Excellent written communication skills - ability to storyboard and manage team to deliver senior executive level communications: presentation and word documents.
