As Senior Manager Capacity Analysis you'll work closely with the Head of Capability to lead or manage the Capacity Analysis, and subsequent assurance of the design, construction and operation of Phase 2 of the HS2 railway in respect of all aspects of Capacity; to ensure it is capable of being constructed, operated and maintained to the required levels of service reliability, capacity and performance.

About the role:

• This role supports the Head of Capability performing and analysis and simulation of the technical operational system ensuring that all elements of the future system are integrated to achieve a whole network design that will, when delivered, achieve the Sponsors Requirements in respect of system performance, capability, safety and reliability.

• Develop and maintain relationships with international high speed railways to capture best practice.

• Provide the company expert capability to model and develop the trains service specification in tandem with the Senior Manager Timetable Performance.

• Ability to perform option selection analyses and be the trusted advisor and go to for decision making using railway simulation tools and analysis linked to capability and capacity.

• Develop models and simulations that translate the high-level requirements from the internal sponsor into specifications for the development, design and construction of the HS2 phases

• Follow processes and concepts to support the integration of the system capability across the whole network, whole system and whole life through the overall system model

• Engage and work with Network rail and other industry parties in respect of the system capability and capacity of the through running of HS2 services on the convention rail network to allow assessment and recommendation of business prioritisation on capability gaps on the conventional rail lines necessary to achieve the requirements of high speed operation.

• Collaborate with other discipline leads to achieve a full understanding of the system capability requirements and the key principles that need to be realised in the engineering design.

• Ability to adopt a Whole systems modelling approach to the analysis.

• Manage the subsequent assurance of the design, construction and operation of the HS2 railway in respect of all aspects of capacity and capability. Specify the procurement, assess, contract manage and accept the delivery of activity by expert technical consultants to supplement the work of the in-house team.

• Manage multiple contractors and their deliverables across the different work packages to make sure they are delivering to the HS2 specification and requirements.

• Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You:

• To produce and present strategic documents and reports to a variety of audiences, including internal stakeholders at various levels in the organisation

• Ability to analysis data using relevant and appropriate statistical methods.

• Knowledge and experience of railway simulation tools.

• Experience of specifying and assuring railway capability and capacity
