Our Sales and Marketing Generalist - Practice Support team focuses on designing, developing, and implementing communication programmes and media events to promote and sell PwC's brand and services as well as contribute to and evaluate our pricing strategies in the marketplace.About the team

Sales & Marketing is a centralised support function and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. The prime area of focus for the function is to support the development and implementation of the firm's market strategy and in particular to deliver stories that inspire, and convey our firm's values.

About the role

PwC is looking for a Senior Manager level candidate to join the Content and Thought Leadership team within the Marketing Centre of Excellence. This role will be responsible for the development, planning and production of stand out content for a variety of communications channels.

Key responsibilities will include;
  • Working with senior stakeholders and business-aligned marketing teams, running workshops and interviewing subject matter experts to develop messaging, campaign narratives, storylines and content plans
  • Creating and editing written content, including flagship reports
  • Generating creative ideas to tell our stories and inform audiences about the full breadth of PwC's capabilities
  • Working with brand, design, video and studio teams to plan and manage high quality multimedia content across campaigns
  • Managing agency relationships to ensure content created externally is of the highest standards
  • Working with research data to identify compelling angles and create content that tells a story
  • Proactively seeking fresh insights and inspiration to improve the targeting, quality and effectiveness of our content
  • Taking responsibility for delivery and evaluation of the ROI of content as part of the wider marketing mix
  • Helping to train team members and the wider marketing function to constantly improve the quality of our content

The role will report into PwC's Head of Content and Thought Leadership, but will be expected to take an independent lead on running the content elements of major campaigns, as well as deputising for the Head of Content and Thought Leadership, as required, at strategy and planning meetings with marketing leadership.

The role will also be responsible for working with the team lead to develop the Content and Thought Leadership team and capabilities within PwC, from reviewing agency support to identifying training opportunities and sharing experience formally and informally with the team.

The candidate can be based anywhere nationally but there will be some travel within the UK.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Brilliant with words and storytelling. A gifted writer with outstanding editing skills
  • Experience creating distinctive content that engages business audiences
  • Ability to interview and challenge subject matter experts, cut through jargon and draw out strong viewpoints and clear opinions
  • Confidence in handling senior stakeholders, managing and guiding their expectations to deliver the best possible results and content
  • Ability to make complex and technical subject matter easily understood by different audiences
  • Track-record of conducting quantitative and qualitative research and working with research data
  • Creative and confident in putting forward new ideas and challenging existing thinking to improve our content
  • Enthusiastic and confident in guiding and helping to develop junior team members
  • Brilliant collaborator and networker, able to work with teams across the entire organisation
  • Creative and strategic thinking, able to bring ideas to life and develop content plans that support both short and long-term marketing campaigns
  • Clear understanding of brand positioning and messaging.
  • Strong working knowledge of business and technology issues as well as being commercially and risk aware
  • An in-depth grasp of news, current affairs, business trends and emerging technologies, and the ability to plan topical content
