The Strategic Pipeline Alliance's (SPA) purpose is to 'Make the East of England Resilient to the Effects of Drought.'

Comprising of Anglian Water, Costain, Farrans, Jacobs, Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley, we will operate as a fully integrated and collaborative Alliance with the aim of allowing our water resource to move more freely across the Anglian region by embracing innovation and new ways of working.

By delivering a smart and resilient transfer system through the delivery of pipelines, pumping stations and associated structures, we will be capable of delivering large scale strategic assets and complex systems to our current asset base by ensuring that these are digitally enabled.

This role is for our Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) with Anglian Water, based in Peterborough.
What will I be doing?

What will you be doing as our new Senior Traffic and Transport Impact Assessment?

Reporting to the Traffic & Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the assessment of traffic and transport impacts. This role will include input to project-specific impact assessments, authoring and reviewing written deliverables for Screening, Scoping and Environmental Statements/Appraisals and Transport Statements. Successful delivery of this role will require you to work in collaboration with the Traffic & Transport Specialist and all other EIA and consenting team members, as well as the design teams, ensuring technical robustness and consistency is maintained across the team and the SPA programme.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering all tasks assigned to you by the Traffic & Transport Specialist, promptly and cost effectively
  • Supporting targeted stakeholder consultation
  • Supporting 'in-discipline' checking of deliverables
  • Producing consistent, technical, high quality traffic and transport inputs to environmental assessment and other deliverables
  • Working across the SPA team to ensure that traffic and transport inputs meet the key SPA programme milestones
  • Taking personal responsibility for supporting programme delivery from a traffic and transport perspective, particularly in the areas of adopting risk-based approaches, quality and programme management
  • Ensuring health and safety, security and environment compliance
  • Providing cover for the Traffic & Transport Specialist during periods of leave etc.
About you

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours....

We are looking for a highly motivated traffic and transport specialist, who has practical experience in scoping targeted, streamlined and proportionate EIA inputs for traffic and transport on large scale infrastructure schemes. Experience of delivering on water infrastructure schemes would be beneficial. Familiarity with traffic management and routing and Construction Traffic Management Plans will be required.

You should be a collaborative team player who facilitates the sharing of guidance, standards and traffic and transport expertise across SPA, as well as a proactive communicator who will contribute to stakeholder engagement with third party interfaces.

The time commitment for this role is estimated to be 1 to 2 days per week on average but will vary with peaks and troughs in workload.
