The Static Analysis Tools team -- aka Infer -- supports Facebook developers so they can move fast with more confidence in the correctness and reliability of their code, by deploying state-of-the-art static analysis and type checkers within IDEs, at diff-time, and in daily repo-wide scans. We analyse C++, Java, and Objective C, supporting Facebook services, Android, and iOS developers.We're currently building and deploying the next-generation core static analysis engine, Pulse. Currently, Pulse is being deployed to support C++ service developers. The next step will be to deploy it to support Android and iOS developers too. The role is to support those deployments.This is a Short Term Employee position that will be based in Paris.

Software Engineer, Infer (Paris) Responsibilities

  • Work with the Infer team to design, implement, test, deploy, and refine Pulse iOS bug checkers

  • Collaborate with Facebook developer community representatives on improving the fidelity of the checkers, making the signal more actionable, and designing new checkers to support arising needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiarity with programming language semantics and applied formal methods, particularly type systems, static analyses, abstract interpretation, symbolic execution

  • Familiarity with at least two of the following programming languages: OCaml, Rust, Haskell, Objective-C, C, C++, Java, Swift

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in OCaml or other languages of the ML family (Haskell, F#, ...)

  • Experience with iOS application development in Objective-C/Objective-C++

  • Experience in implementing applied formal methods (e.g., type checkers, static analyses, abstract interpretation, symbolic execution)
