About the Cross-border Workplace Investing Business

Fidelity is a leading provider globally of Workplace Investing (WI) solutions to multi-national companies. The Cross-border WI business is a strategically important element of this proposition, ensuring that Fidelity can meet the international needs of its clients and of its clients' employees as they save for retirement. The business currently offers two main solutions, namely:

  • an International Pension Plan solution that allows multi-national companies to provide employer-sponsored retirement provision to employees based all around the world; and
  • a new, multi-country European solution to meet the needs of multi-national companies across the EU's employer-sponsored pension market the IORP market. Called the Fidelity European Pension Plan (FEPP), this business launched in January 2021.

Purpose of the Role

This is a new role being created for the Cross-Border WI business, working alongside the existing Solution Architect, providing innovative digital solutions for Defined Contribution savings and pension plan administration services.

The Solution Analyst is responsible for analysing and assessing the business processes and technology solutions of both Fidelity and its partners to ensure they are robust, efficient and meet the needs of its clients. Parts of the Cross-Border WI business are relatively new and so some processes and solutions are relatively immature and will need to evolve quickly as the business grows.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, recommending, designing and co-ordinating the delivery of solutions, working alongside Technology colleages in Fidelity and with third party suppliers. They will be expected to develop and maintain a deep understanding of the wider WI solutions and systems that comprise our Operating Platform and overall proposition, since consistency across our services is an important aspect of our service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

The Solution Analyst will support the Solution Architect in the following areas:
  • Working with clients, suppliers, and product specialists to understand their solution needs
  • Act as a liaison between the business and Fidelity technology
  • Help drive the change agenda to ensure our platform and services stay best in class
  • Identifying areas for improvement and recommending potential solutions
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements developing strawman solutions and prototypes for review
  • Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and collecting/documenting feedback
  • Performing requirements analysis and documenting proposals
  • Supporting user acceptance testing and assisting with new releases
  • Assisting with the development of project plans and supporting Project Managers during the analysis and planning stages of solution development
  • Evaluating risks and risk mitigation strategies through solution development
  • Working with Service Delivery in developing and maintaining procedures
  • Supporting Service Delivery and Implementation Teams as necessary

About you

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial services or, preferably, the pension administration industry
  • First-hand experience of delivering change, either through product development, consulting or operational change management
  • Strong background and understanding of "what's possible" and how to get there
  • Strong analytical skills, for problem resolution and ability to articulate workable solutions
  • Strong vendor/ relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Experience of project management, notably leading workstreams and managing to deadlines
  • Experience in user-centric solution design and implementation
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team and to influence others to get the job done
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable and confident communicating directly with colleagues at all levels in the organisation

  • Ability to balance the creativity required to explore different solutions with the exercise of good judgement as to what is not possible

    Our ideal candidate will have:
    Fluency in a major European language (e.g. French, Dutch) in addition to English
    Knowledge of Defined Contribution record-keeping and platforms
    Sound judgement of what constitutes exceptional delivery and service
    An outcome focussed approach
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Attention to detail
