We now have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our IT team as a Solutions Architect; this person will be at the forefront of E.ON’s IT Digital Transformation and have responsibility for leading the way into creating innovative solutions that accelerate our customer and colleague experience.

The role would ideally suit someone who has the drive and passion for all things Digital and who wants to create technology that will propel E.ON into the future.

You’ll never get bored, you’ll always be learning- as this role is such a variety you’ll never have two days the same. You’ll support our whole business unit within the UK on a wide range of IT solutions.

This role will take you far, allowing you to work alongside our Vendor, Digital & Technology stakeholders as well as steering outsourcing partners on key programs to support the implementation of the architecture investments while maintaining architecture guidelines and blueprints. There’s a lot of responsibility too, as these programs can be as large as €10m.


If you want to transform E.ON with IT Solutions then here’s what you need to succeed:

  • At least 3 years’ work related experience as an IT architect.
  • Conversant in emerging technologies including Cloud-Specific technologies, microservice or service oriented architectures on at least one of the main public cloud platforms and all of the technologies involved in modern architectures, data streaming platforms, api management, networking and connectivity fundamentals, security fundamentals, devops release pipelines, data fundamentals (including noSQL solutions)
  • Extensive experience of working alongside enterprise architects and data management functions to provide technical solutions within a mature and complex system architecture  
  • Experience of operating in an outsourced environment, with strong supplier liaison where development projects involve 3rd party organisations and technologies.
  • Experience of using innovation, technology and problem solving skills to mitigate business risk
  • Strong Negotiating and Influencing skills that can be leveraged at all levels within the EON Organisation.  
  • Ability to identify emerging technologies with interest to the EON UK Business and the ability to demonstrate their value to the business.  
  • Presentation and workshop management skills.
