The global Digital & Data team is the central team in Foods & Refreshment (F&R) Research & Development (R&D) to enable and lead the digital transformation of our organisation. Our core expertise area and responsibility are to provide the systems expertise and user solutions to drive data quality in our core ingredient and product specifications. Increasingly, we are also strengthening our capability in data engineering, visualisation, reporting and data science to extract the maximum value from data we have. While using all data to support F&R’s computer modelled design agenda. The digital and data team is working closely together with many teams across F&R R&D, ranging from regional to local deploy centre  teams on product specs to global design centres/Science & Technology/Capability teams on data science and models 


The Global Foods and Refreshment R&D team is heavily investing in data recording technology which is transforming our product development capability, providing a step change in our ability to capture formulation, processing, packaging, pilot plant and factory data. Therefore, we are looking for a Specification and Foods Labelling Junior Technologist. In this role, as a member of Data Specialists Squad, you will be primary focusing on creating product and labelling specifications for Food products for Europe. In this role, you assure speed to market availability of R&D data and our e-commerce agenda. While also applying agile ways of working. You will work closely with various teams such as the European Regional R&D Centres, Local Deploy and Supply Chain teams 


This role presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate technologist in food law & labelling to make an impact on our food products.  



  • Create and maintain high quality product and labelling specifications within IT systems that are compliant with food law & aligned with internal stakeholders (supply chain, product developers, etc.)

  • Deliver specifications and labelling data for innovations and data projects while proactively following up with relevant stakeholders and systems

  • Strongly driving the digital & data culture within Unilever R&D by being an ambassador of IT tools and digital processes.  



  • A master's degree in food technology, Food Law, Commodity Science, Biotechnology or similar relevant area. 

  • Experience with European food law & labelling and management of technical documentation for food products.  

  • Excellent data meaning skills; applied skills in MS Excel, management of databases and PowerBI 

  • A great agile team player & networker, but you can also work autonomously and motivate yourself in a highly matrixed organization.
