Amazon is focused on protecting the health and safety of our employees while continuing to serve people who need our services more than ever. Regular testing on a global scale across all industries would both help keep people safe and help get the economy back up and running. But, for this to work, we as a society would need vastly more testing capacity than is currently available. Unfortunately, today we live in a world of scarcity where COVID-19 testing is heavily rationed. Until we have an effective vaccine available in billions of doses, high-volume testing capacity would be of great help, but getting that done will take collective action by NGOs, companies, and governments.

For our part, Amazon has begun the work of building incremental testing capacity.

We are seeking a Sr. Quality Manager to join our Operations team. In the role, you will partner with numerous teams including operations, product and program management, and software development to drive continuous improvement of the operations of our employee testing program. The ideal candidate has a drive to innovate, proven analytical capabilities, the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, exceptional communication and project management skills, and a passion for and the ability to dive deep, root cause and permanently eliminate defects.

This role calls for an individual who is technically smart, operationally sound and able to gain credibility with operations leadership and key stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Success will require leading by influence; you must be able to sell your vision and plan to critical stakeholders, hold your partners accountable for delivering against their goals, and dive into the details to ensure you and your partners are measuring and delivering on business-critical metrics. The Sr. Quality Manager role will challenge you to push boundaries and lead transformative innovation while having the autonomy to make rapid data-driven decisions and invent on behalf of Amazon employees and building operators and deploy solutions at scale.

The successful candidate:
· Is smart, hard-working, creative and loves solving difficult business problems and 'getting things done'
· Can think big and develop and nurture new ideas, while simultaneously applying high standards to weed out ideas that are less impactful
· Is comfortable collaborating with and influencing team members, working with development teams and other business groups, and presenting projects to senior leadership
· Has the ability to partner to build and execute on new initiatives and roadmaps each year
· Will compile, manage, and report on weekly project metrics and be responsible for leading many high profile meetings to align on project requirements
· Builds relationships and identifies with stakeholders across the organization, while also holding them accountable to meeting their goals
· Has the technical aptitude to quickly grasp complex technical issues and communicate directly with technical teams
· Understands how to thrive in ambiguous environments and lead other teams without line of sight to a clear solution in the short term


· Technical (Maths, Engineering, Science) Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
· Proven experience in project management and leading large cross-functional teams in business operations and technology process improvement areas
· Experience instructing Executives, Managers, Associates and Operations Integration champions on Lean methodologies and/or Technology Projects
· Experience deploying transformational improvements and familiarity with CI concepts of lean, variation reduction, and design for six sigma methodologies
· Ability to interpret and map processes to data


· Experience with an e-commerce company
· Ability to think both strategically and tactically
· Extremely strong problem structuring and solving skills and ability to deal with ambiguity
· Curiosity to dig several layers deep into metrics with an innate desire to understand key drivers and whether they are the correct or best metrics to measure/manage a business or process
· Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
· Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
· Innovative and self-directed
· Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion
