About the role

We work with companies to provide assurance over the non-financial information they provide to their customers, regulators, investors and civil society (their 'stakeholders'), in the form of independent assurance.

Non-financial information includes ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance), Sustainability and Climate Change related reporting, key performance indicators, operational performance metrics, regulatory disclosures and other areas where stakeholders of our clients are increasingly seeking transparency

With the increasing focus on climate change and sustainability at our clients and across wider society, this is an opportunity to join a practice that is at the forefront of developing the Firm's audit response to climate change and helping our clients to trust ESG related disclosures they are making to their stakeholders.

The role will include:

• Delivering Non-Financial reporting assurance engagements - designing approaches to the provision of assurance across a variety of subject matter and metrics (but in particular those related to ESG), planning, designing and executing assurance testing procedures on client's disclosures and drafting and issuing standard based reports and opinions

• Providing support to financial audit teams on climate related matters - assisting financial audit teams to understand and consider the potential impact of climate change on their clients such that climate risk is appropriately factored into the execution of financial audit procedures. Preparing for, and briefing clients, on the latest regulatory and reporting requirements as they pertain to climate change and the potential impact on financial reporting.

• Business development - working with the wider Stakeholder Assurance team to continually horizon scan for new opportunities, develop propositions and target new clients.

You'll be constantly learning and your own ideas will be welcomed in an atmosphere of innovation, collaboration and teamwork. You will be required to deliver complex, bespoke engagements and will work directly with Partners and Directors to support them to deliver those engagements and with the on-going development of the proposition and market activity.

  • Knowledge and experience of ESG, Sustainability and Climate Change subject matter and reporting developments in this area.

  • Exceptional client relationship and communication skills.
  • Assurance experience, including performing walkthroughs and evaluating controls.
  • Knowledge and understanding of some key non-financial assurance reporting and assurance standards.
  • Demonstrable experience of working on multiple engagements, managing your time effectively to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
