The Strategy and Planning Directorate is a newly formed directorate with a mandate to collaborate with partners across LLR to define the system strategic priorities. This will include developing plans at System, Place and Neighbourhood to deliver an improvement in health outcomes, reducing health inequalities and responding to growth.

A key role in enabling these plans to be developed is strategic estate development and this post will lead this work. The key responsibilities of this post will be to:

- Lead and co-ordinate strategic estates activities including developing proposals to support primary care premises development, estates solutions for the place based plans and plans to manage housing growth.

- Lead and co-ordinate the development of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Strategic Estates Strategy to make best use of collective assets and work with finance colleagues to develop the yearly LLR capital programme.

- Lead and support the development of capital and estates business cases, working with partners and NHS England and Improvement to gain approval.

- Lead and support the implementation of strategic estates and capital programmes and projects including the engagement of professional support.

You will need to have to have:

- Significant experience of delivering strategic estates planning, estates delivery and capital programme development.

- Comprehensive understanding of project and programme management and experience of applying this.

- Experience of developing successful business cases for estates and or capital programmes/projects, including SOC; OBC and FBC and knowledge of NHSEI capital business case requirements.

- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative and workable solutions to complex problems.

- Strong stakeholder and engagement relationship skills, building strong working relationships across the system and the ability to influence at a strategic level .
