BACKGROUND
4Studio is the engine room for C4's digital acceleration strategy, with the mission to create, adapt and distribute brilliant content across the key social media channels. The 4Studio commercial team are responsible for bringing in revenue on Channel 4's social platforms. This role sits in the commercial team.

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Creative Strategist in 4Studio, the Strategist's role is to create and deliver the best in market strategy for social branded entertainment and social sponsorship campaigns across all of Channel 4's social platforms. You will push the social agenda both internally and externally, and work with the C4 sales team to ensure social is part of wider C4 brief responses.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A creative problem solver who can simplify a challenge by using insight, initiative and intelligence. This role suits someone who has an excellent knowledge of social media, keeps up to date with industry developments and is passionate about audience data, research and brand advertising. Your experience could be from Creative, Planning or Strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create innovative social branded entertainment, sponsorship and social advertising strategies for Channel 4 client's social campaigns
  • Use audience data and insight to identify social, market and cultural trends which will inform the Channel 4 commissioning team, and Production partners, to create original format content ideas
  • Create proposals and sales presentations in response to client briefs and pro-active social content ideas
  • Create high impact sales decks and collateral to promote social commercial opportunities
  • Proactively pitch these ideas to agencies and clients, along with the 4Studio sales team and commissioning team
  • Help to ensure we are taking a consistent and joined up approach to briefs across social, linear & digital.
  • Play a key role in responding to client and agency social briefs, including:
Interrogating and dissecting briefsIdentify the business challenges and advise on campaign strategy accordinglyUse audience data and insight to identify social, cultural and market trends that inform the creative direction for all social branded entertainment video campaignsIdentify the best social platforms and formats for the idea and the brief to maximise the success of all campaignsWork with the C4 Digital Commissioner to come up with best in market content ideas that fit with the Channel's remit of high quality and premium social content
  • Play a key role in Channel 4's campaign measurement strategy and work with C4's Insights and Research team to provide market leading campaign measurement on all social campaigns to ensure repeat business
  • Advise on Channel 4's paid social strategy for all commercial campaigns.
  • Play a key role in growing sales revenues for Channel 4 by delivering market leading social strategy for the sales team to sell branded entertainment partnerships and social sponsorships.
  • Use and be an expert in the social analytics tools Channel 4 needs to identify key social, cultural and market trends and deliver market leading brief responses
  • Along with the Group Content Sales Managers (4Studio), work with the TV Branded Entertainment, Partnerships and Client sales teams to champion social branded entertainment, ensure social is proposed for all relevant briefs and maximise the potential revenue to Channel 4
  • Work closely with the creative team in 4Sales to interrogate briefs and define the strategic approach for our agency and client briefs and for our channel backed initiatives.
  • Bring innovative ideas for both content and revenue opportunities on social to the lead Creative Strategist, and Commercial Lead, 4Studio
  • Keep up with industry/market knowledge to help inform the 4Studio commercial strategy
  • Develop meaningful relationships with senior stakeholders both internally across Channel 4, and at agencies and key partnership clients
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Some experience developing and delivering socially-driven strategy, specifically in the field of branded partnerships in a commercial environment
  • Proven experience working in a creative, planning or strategy role for a media, social, creative or advertising agency, OR experience at a socially driven media partner in a creative, planning or strategy role
  • Strategist/Creative Solutions/Planning/Partnerships Manager level
  • The ability to command a room of senior agency and client representatives
  • Experience working with large media budgets for branded content campaigns
  • You will be an expert in social content and social strategy and you will liaise with a number of internal teams to champion social and social branded entertainment across the wider Channel 4 sales team
  • The ability to juggle and prioritise multiple briefs/proactive proposals at the same time
  • An excellent understanding of the social media landscape across all platforms
  • An excellent understanding of branded content/branded entertainment on social
  • The ability to articulate the benefits of social branded content to agencies and their advertisers
  • An innovative and creative thinker who's passionate about social media and social video content
  • An interest and passion for using audience data and social analytics tools to identify key insights and trends within social
  • A proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders internally including but not limited to sales, project management, social media marketing, planning, research and insights teams.
