Student Data Analyst

Job Reference: 260-2375-SS

Employer: Department: DET Location: Tavistock Clinic (working remotely in the first instance), London Salary: £45,780 - £51,393 per annum including HCAs

The Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist all age, outpatient only mental health Trust with a focus on Training and Education alongside a full range of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Psychological Therapies. The Trust is committed to improving mental health and emotional wellbeing, believing that high quality mental health services should be available for all who need them. Our contribution is distinctive in the importance we attach to social experience at all stages of people's lives, and our focus on psychological and developmental approaches to the promotion of health and the prevention and treatment of mental ill health.

The Trust makes its contribution through:

• Providing relevant and effective clinical services for children and families, young people and adults, ensuring that those who need our services can access them easily

• Providing training and education aimed at building an effective and sustainable NHS and Social Care workforce and at improving public understanding of mental health

• Undertaking research and consultancy aimed at improving knowledge and practice and supporting innovation

• Working actively with stakeholders to advance the quality of mental health care, and to advance awareness of the personal, social and economic benefits associated with psychological therapies

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Student Data Analyst to join the Trust's Directorate of Education and Training (DET). This is a new role for the Trust, created in recognition of the increasing importance of student data for the Trust's statutory returns, and for creating an internal reporting framework for management insight.

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness with statutory returns, from student data held on the Trust's student records system (SITS). Statutory returns are made through the Trust's validating University partner, the University of Essex, and the role requires close liaison and collaboration with colleagues at Essex. The postholder will be responsible for monitoring for changing requirements in statutory reporting, and working closely with Directorate colleagues to understand the potential impact of these changes on business processes.

Internally to the Trust, work has been undertaken to create a framework for management reporting and there is now an opportunity to implement a new reporting environment for student data, working in close collaboration with the Trust's Informatics team, and with colleagues in DET.

The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience of statutory returns, HESA, HESES, and experience of working with SITS. Applicants without this experience are unlikely to be shortlisted. In addition, the postholder will be an excellent communicator, able to explain the impact of data accuracy and reporting to a wide range of stakeholders.

This is an exciting time to join DET and the Trust, as we work towards registration with OfS and we continue to build our business intelligence capabilities.
