Title: Supplier Manager

Location: Corby / Hybrid

The Supplier manager is part of the wider P&SM organization and executes the agreed common EMEA category strategy on a local level. This includes developing and leveraging local supplier relationships within the 7pillars framework, focusing on the strategic suppliers in first priority, qualifying new suppliers following a request from the sales team or from insight coming from the EMEA team or from an insight came from a supplier. Main objectives include achieving targeted profitable growth, customer acquisition, market share growth and ROI. This is achieved through development and execution of supplier business plans to realize the category strategy.

The Supplier managers constitute an important part of the market intelligence of the group category team providing market trends and insights as well as customer needs/insights/feedback. Also part of a virtual regional team to ensure regional alignment and maximization of supplier value extraction supported by procurement and governance.

The supplier Manager will be able to visit some customers, however his main task will be to meet suppliers and develop the partnership, the relationship in order to become first choice of his strategic suppliers. the SM should meet X suppliers per week.

The jobholder is responsible for the following processes
• Development and execution of supplier business plans in line with the agreed common EMEA category strategy.
• Supplier value extraction.(rebate, funding, incoterm, buyback..)
• Local sourcing within agreed corridor of terms
• Communication across all levels of the suppliers' organisations
• Management of supplier expectations in line with our objectives and category strategy
• Securing Minimum Viable Content (MVC) product and transactional content onto content aggregator as basis for all NPIs
• Successful NPI delivery and performance by supplier following the supplier segmentation
• Collaboration across the regional product teams and achievement of suppliers KPI's
• Use and respect the RACI / SIPOC and ways of working defined
• Use the SRM to manage the daily work.
• Up to date information on the SRM (supplier contacts, meeting notes, contractual terms, market share..)
• Develop a marketing plan and ensure its delivered & invoiced

Tasks & Duties:

Execution of local supplier business plans following the EMEA agreed group category strategy with an end-to-end channel understanding
Deliver agreed KPI's for:
 Bi-annual supplier/ category market insight -supplier existing/ new, product, content, marketing, compliance, innovation,technical, inventory, pricing...
- Supplier sales revenue
- Supplier product Margin (cost ownership and resale influence)
- Customer acquisition and leads generation by supplier while focussing on the customer journey- through for example Digital product and supplier performance analysis using adobe data
- Support the business with supplier relationship when required on Volume and tender price optimisation for focused customer accounts
- Local supplier marketing plans supported by supplier funding that tie into the overall RS EMEA marketing pack
- Responsible for products selections on marketing activities(as well as ensuring pricing, content and stock are good quality)
- Support Inventory to optimize market inventory availability, value and health by supplier and the delivery performance in local markets
- Develop direct links through supplier e commerce sites "buy buttons" to generate incremental digital traffic
- Working with suppliers to ensure they can provide the data we need to launch products within 24 hours (currently through aggregator)
- Responsible of the NPI performance (3/6/9) (value and number of articles) and of the management of it (buyback agreement) by supplier
- Product lifecycle management of the range , the performance by supplier
- Strategic supplier network share growth
- Supplier management including new supplier acquisition following the overall strategy and local market needs
- Commercial value extraction from our suppliers, including marketing funding, competitive pricing opportunities, rebate profit contribution, availability initiatives and technical marketing support
- Supplier business reviews planning and execution
- Ensure we are buying the right parts at the most advantageous commercial terms, providing optimal availability of the suppliers' product range
- Work closely with Inventory, pricing, Content marketing, logistic, sales and Technical to maximise the suppliers' product portfolio and performance
- Work closely with Marketing to establish effectively targeted campaigns following the group marketing strategy for your suppliers enabling customer acquisition, lead generation and profitable sales growth whilst extracting maximum supplier support
- Work closely with Pricing to ensure specific resale initiatives are optimised through market and competitor intelligence for your suppliers(heatmap)
- Go to market plan with sales teams (Dual visits, customer acquisition, customer transfer, leads...)
- Invoice on price queries

Requirements:

Essential:

• Successful track record in supplier/account management or related discipline
• Business planning and execution capability
• A collaborative team player across a business with fast moving, customer driven markets
• Successful supplier relationship management
• Ability to work cross functional as well as cross cultural as part of a wider global team
• Demonstrates an excellent understanding of, and the ability to articulate, the RS Value Proposition
• Strong commercial acumen and broad communication skills
• Educated to degree-level or equivalent
• Positive can-do attitude, takes ownership and very results oriented
• Outstanding communication and influencing skills
• Change Management
• Understanding of marketing, purchasing and inventory control
• Operational problem solver and good process management capability
• Technology experience

Desirable:

• Sales and/or management experience an advantage
• Experience of influencing without direct responsibility
• Experience of working with an online digital toolset
• Understands the needs of engineers and buyers (our target customers)
• Ability to operate in a second language
