Amazon Freight Operations Overview.

Amazon Freight Operations (AF Ops) is the Pan- European team that handles Amazon Freight's Shipper Support and Transportation Execution. We are responsible for planning and scheduling the transport orders placed by our customers (Shippers), and providing them with support at each step of their journey. We play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon Freight's European transportation network and have a direct impact on Shipper Experience.

Supply and Demand Planning Lead Overview

AF Ops is looking to hire a motivated, highly analytical, and customer-obsessed Supply and Demand Planning Program Manager.

The Supply and Demand Planning PM is an individual contributor in a fast paced, dynamic and customer obsessed business. He/she will own and drive various analyses of AF Ops team's workforce supply and demand planning practices across the Pan-European region. Utilise advanced analysis, people metrics and reporting to develop strategic models and methodology, to create operational insights for workforce decision-making to identify gaps and solutions to meet business requirements.

The Supply and Demand Planning PM is an experienced subject matter expert who provides analytics and interprets results to support the business decision involving internal labour planning, forecasting, modelling, location strategy, organisation workforce design, workforce competency modelling, etc.

The candidate should have a high level of technical/system acumen! We are looking for candidates who have the level of technical skills required to execute data extraction, data mining and reporting from a variety of workforce systems.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
1. Manage supply and demand planning aligned with annual business strategy discussions to identify implications on total workforce, key gaps in roles, supporting talent strategies and internal pipeline.
2. Drive workforce planning and demand forecasting processes in partnership with the wider AF Ops team, AF Product, AF Business Development, Finance, HR partners, and Talent Acquisition.
3. Designing and implementing some of the planning solutions required.
4. Analyse current and historical staffing trends, transaction volumes (incidents, calls, freight loads, pallets, time on task etc) and all operational efficiency and performance metrics to formulate staffing requirements and plan/manage all scheduled and unscheduled shrinkage
5. Monitor schedule adherence and escalate any concerns proactively
6. Monitor the service levels and trends and propose resource reallocation as needed
7. Develop productivity metrics and monitoring and reporting mechanisms, transform data into insights
8. Generate and distribute daily order and disruption management and performance reports
9. Prepare projections and schedules for new program/project launches
10. Investigate and resolve issues pertaining to schedules and adjustments
11. Own root cause analysis for any workforce management or reporting issues, own initiatives for issue prevention
12. Bring a department and company-wide perspective to decision making. Have strong business acumen with experience of managing key performance indicators.


· +4 years experience in a similar Supply and Demand Planning role
· Superior analytical skills with the ability to assess data and trends using both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques (Excel, SQL)
· Must be hands-on
· Ideally some commercial planning experience, ie budget planning etc
· Broad working knowledge of workforce management systems, tools, and processes.
· Strong business acumen, the ability to relate workforce management processes and objectives to broader business at all levels
· Good decision-making capability, knows when to involve senior management in decision-making
· Excellent collaboration, influencing, and change agent skills
· Excellent communication skills, professional demeanour and able to adapt your approach to fit the audience
· Should be comfortable with a multi-tasking, high-energy environment. Should be creative and analytical problem solver with a passion to provide excellent customer service


1. Bachelor's degree in economics, computer science, statistics, finance, social science, psychology, or another field that uses quantitative analysis.
2. Previous experience where you've proven success in an supply and demand planning role in a global organisation
3. Working knowledge of statistics and application of statistical tools, alongside knowledge of analytical tools such as Tableau, SQL, Python.
4. Experience of working with Lean Management tools
