The Division of Emergency and General Medicine is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic support secretary to join our professional team at the Royal Preston Hospital.The post holder will be required to help provide a comprehensive secretarial service and efficient channels of communication between internal and external disciplines.

The work will cover a wide range of duties and you must therefore be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to all working relationships.You will have a good working knowledge of managing and taking responsibility for arranging meetings and minute taking and diary management for the Divisional Management Team as well as supporting the Office Manager with day to day duties.

Ideally you should have secretarial experience in an NHS office environment but this is not essential, however, you should be fully conversant with Microsoft Office, audio-transcription and minute taking.

If you are successful in obtaining a position with our Trust which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check. As a registered body with the DBS, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will conduct the administration of this application on your behalf and the cost will be recovered from your salary, either as a one-off payment or over 3 months.
