If you prefer working with flexibility, we have a number of shifts available for occasional hours staff .

As a Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant with Leonard Cheshire you’ll provide a high level of care and support to vulnerable people, enabling them to live the life they choose. You’ll assist with daily tasks including personal care, medication and assistance at mealtimes, motivating and encouraging choice and participation.  

Experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant is desirable but not essential as we offer an excellent training and induction programme to get you fully trained in your new role!

We are always seeking bank staff although hours are not always guaranteed. Flexibility is important for this role to cover a range of shift patterns including, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Dorset Learning Disability Service delivers to both residential and supported living services for adults with varying disabilities and complex needs and we are committed to ensuring that the people who use our services enjoy the highest quality of life. Our Support Workers are at the heart of our work enabling everyone we support to live their lives the way they choose. You will be required to provide person-centred care and support to individuals with physical and/or learning disabilities and behaviours that can challenge others so will need to be compassionate, creative, and honest, love working with people, and have their wellbeing as your top priority. You will also bring great positive energy and be able to work excellently as part of a team.
