Our Mental Health team in Birmingham is now looking for a Floating Support Worker to join their team as they improve lives each day. There are two roles available for you. These offer either a 30 hr or 37.5 working week across a 7 day rota.
In this role you will be travelling across Birmingham meeting a variety of customers meaning you will need to be comfortable with lone working and travelling across the city. You will be working with customers who have mental health support requirements.
When you join us we will provide you with the necessary training to be successful and personal protective equipment relevant to your role too.
Each day you will deliver individual support which reflects the different customer needs. You will be assessing, support planning and completing ongoing reviews. You’ll be comfortable in providing practical and emotional support and understand how to tailor this to different customers. This role will also require domiciliary care to be undertaken.
You work will help improve lives by empowering our customers to take control of their lives and through helping them access opportunities for education, training and employment. You will also help these individuals to network at a challenging time.
You will ideally possess a passion for working in the support sector or mental health sector and will have a genuine desire to further the life chances of individuals with mental health issues. Daily you will be helping individuals to live more independently and seeing their progress.
Working as our Floating Support Worker you will have a passion for helping people to complete tasks like paying bills, shopping and embedding themselves into their local communities. You’ll be comfortable working with both male and female customers and helping support them where their needs may be complex.
You’ll ideally have experience in providing structured support to customers and undertaking their risk assessments and using your excellent communication skills to build relationships with them. Managing your own case or workload is second nature and you can demonstrate you have a natural ability to do so.
If you do not have experience, then a hunger to learn will be needed and we will support you with all relevant training to be successful
