Customer Development (Sales) makes sure that shoppers can find our brands, wherever and whenever they want them. We are responsible for building and growing relationships with our customers, predicting tomorrow's shopping trends and identifying exciting new ways to make Unilever products stand out in a crowded market. ​ CD is where it all happens; whether it’s working with Supply Chain to get stock on shelf at the right size, price and for the right shopper occasions, or with Marketing to drive new campaigns forward and selling to our retailers. ​

The role is based in our UK & Ireland Head Office in Leatherhead. Located in the Surrey countryside, our office is home to a restaurant, a deli bar, a gym, a hair salon and a free Ben & Jerry’s bar to indulge in a tasty treat. You could be enjoying your lunch on our beautiful terrace in the summer, getting your hair trimmed, or letting off some steam in a personal training session! The purpose of this role is to grow the categories that Unilever operates in to ensure their future. In this role you deliver best in class category and shopper insights to our retailers and our business, developing strategies, solutions and recommendations to grow our mutual businesses sustainably. 


Agile roles will be tied to a division (so are able to work across all categories in that division).

They will be able to function across the key skill sets defined for category management but we will identify key strengths and passion points areas of individuals to facilitate better resourcing decisions when possible.

Key projects agile roles will need to resource as directed/recruited by anchor roles:

  • Defining and developing category/channel growth drivers
  • Objectively consulting and challenging UL strategies using the category/channel growth drivers
  • Range reviews and macro space projects

Projects will be added to the backlog by anchors and phased across the year as much as possible, facilitated by OKR approach. Decisions on resource required and prioritisation will be made primarily by the cat man leadership team and CDLT.
