We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate.

We are looking to recruit a Team Coordinator to the Research Programmes team on a permanent contract. The Research Programmes team is central to Wellcome's new strategy and drives research supported by Wellcome to address urgent health challenges facing everyone - through discovery research and work focusing on the impact of climate change on health, mental health, and infectious disease.

We need an experienced administrator with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be providing administrative support to the Research Programmes Director team, so it is vital that you have exceptional organisation skills and the ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.

In this role you will:

  • Organise mail, answering telephones,

  • Oversee the Team's space and supplies; organise desk and IT arrangements

  • Administer databases

  • Organise meetings; prepare papers, agendas, PowerPoint slides, take minutes

  • Manage inductions for new team members

  • Contribute to the evolution of a professional administrative community of practice for Wellcome, for example through participation in the Wellcome Management and Team Support (MaTES) community.

  • Work with other administrators in your team to ensure that sufficient cover is available when colleagues are absent and that surge capacity is available at times when particular teams have higher than usual and business critical needs.

  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrable administration experience

  • Advanced IT Skills - excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including SharePoint.

  • The ability to draft correspondence

  • The ability to prepare agendas and paperwork and take minutes for meetings 

  • The ability to multi-task, prioritise, take initiative and work to deadlines. 

  • Good organisation skills

Salary: £30,352 per annum
