An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic secretary to join the Community Parkinson's Nursing team based at the Cumberland Centre, Devonport.

This is a fixed term role for 6 months - 10 hours per week.

Your role will be to support the Community Parkinson's nursing team in the provision of a comprehensive administration service with duties including audio typing of clinic dictations, printing and posting correspondence such as patient letters and the Friends and Family test. There will be an expectation of filing letters electronically and updating SystmOne with relevant information such as adding/deleting referrals to the nurse's caseloads, updating appointments, and checking that the RAPA database is up to date. At times, you will be expected to answer telephones and check the answerphone as well as ordering items such as equipment and stationary. We work closely with colleagues at UHPT, and you will be expected to liaise at times with the Parkinson's team at Derriford Hospital and their administration team, to ensure there is a joined up approach for our patients care and treatment.

The post requires excellent organisational skills, good communication skills, a flexible approach, good time management and the ability to prioritise work and manage working under pressure well.

As such, we require someone with experience of secretarial work and proficient in efficient, precise and accurate clinical audio typing. You will have RSA 3 or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a secretarial capacity.

The team are currently working from the office base at Cumberland Centre and home-based working. Your role will require the same flexibility.

The post requires excellent communication and organisational skills, good time management, and the ability to prioritise own work load, working under your own initiative. You will need a positive attitude towards people experiencing difficulties associated with Parkinson's and have excellent customer care skills.
