DescriptionProvides technical process support for projects including industrial water or wastewater operations or dewatering beneficial reuse for residuals or water. Contributes to overall direction and execution of technical aspects for operationsPRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESProvide overall direction and handle the management of his/her assigned project, including the assigned personnel, equipment, and subcontractors.Ensure project or assignment is planned and coordinated according to the schedule, with strict adherence to quality and budget considerationsAssist Business Development in preparation of estimates and procedures in planning of projects, with a strong focus on operational efficiencies.Ensure technical quality and safety in all aspects of job performance and compliance per DOT, EPA, and OSHA requirementsAct as Veolia's main contact with the customer or other external parties for the resolution of operational or project development issues.Actively participate in feedback and post-job evaluation portions of the project.Reviews and comments on design criteria and P&ID’s (Process & Instrumentation diagrams) and develops recommendations/requested changes for client planned projects and company projects. Reviews and reports on technology or equipment purchases under consideration at existing or new projects. Provides process control troubleshooting for water and/or wastewater processes. Participates in PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) reviews.Assists with the development of corrective action plans for process control issues. Leads new project start up efforts to help ensure proposal commitments are met. Develops Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Plans for assigned projects. Establishes VWNA Cost of Goods Sold Program (COGS) and provides periodic review and support with COGS optimization within assigned Projects. Performs facility reviews and identifies cost saving measures and develops corrective action plans for budget resolution.Provides technical support and research as requested by Veolia staff or clients. Provides hands on operational support to projects on an as needed basis.Coordinates requests and secures support for Projects when not directly providing support. Performs new business due diligence Other duties as needed
QualificationsEducation / Experience / BackgroundAt least ten years progressive experience in design, project, construction, or management of water/wastewater treatment plants and ability to troubleshoot and solve water / wastewater treatment process/ operations problems.Demonstrated experience in at least 3 product line service classifications.Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesDemonstrated knowledge of the standard practices, common tools, materials, occupational hazards and safety precautions of water / wastewater treatment plant. Basic knowledge of competing & alternative technologies.Demonstrates ability to develop unique solutions for complex technical problems that may include the design of new systems or development of solutions having few or no precedents.Consistently demonstrates leadership ability and regularly serves as a technical or functional leader on a project basis.Thorough understanding of internal and external economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assignment areas.
