As Technical Governance Manager within the Infrastructure Department you will support the Chief Engineer in driving the performance of the team through effective management of the business, budget and programme particularly supporting delivery of key priorities, certain elements of the internal management of the business and delivering defined projects as required.

About the role:

• Develop, manage and report on the annual business plan, covering key activities, milestones, risks, workforce, resources and budget - taking mitigating actions where necessary;

• Lead the Technical Governance team in the production of reports and analytics as required by the wider HS2 programme, ensuring the effective and timely collection of data from the department;

• Lead the development of all business processes on behalf of the management team, interfacing with others to ensure that processes are integrated with the rest of the organisation;


About You:

* Analysis skills - including distilling information from multiple sources and turning it into clear written materials

* Influencing & Negotiation skills - including the ability to influence and "upwards manage" to senior colleagues

* Understanding and experience in developing and managing business plans and budgets, preferably in a programme environment

* Understanding of project and programme management techniques and processes.

* Experience in developing and managing business plans and budgets, preferably in a programme environment

* Experience in developing and managing business processes

* Experience of managing competing project and engineering demands, with cost and schedule implications.
