As our new Temporary Works Manager, you'll ensure that all Temporary Works are adequately and safely designed, constructed, implemented and removed in accordance with Project Procedures and industry standards.

Anglian Water has created a new deliver enterprise - the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). The projects purpose is to 'Make the East of England resilient to the effects of drought'. Achieving our purpose will ensure the security of water supply for future generations, over decades to come.

By delivering a smart and resilient transfer system through the delivery of Pipelines, Pumping Stations and associated structures, we will be capable of delivering large scale strategic assets and complex systems to our current asset base by ensuring that these are digitally enabled.

This role is for our Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) with Anglian Water, based in Peterborough.
What will I be doing?

As our new Temporary Works Manager, you'll ensure that all Temporary Works are adequately and safely designed, constructed, implemented and removed in accordance with Project Procedures and industry standards.

Operating with the customer at heart, you'll understand the Client and Alliance Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and Statutory Requirements as they affect operations and ensure that the obligations, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure satisfactory Temporary Works design is carried out on a consistent basis
  • Agree with the Designers/Checkers and other parties on the level of risk and temporary design check
  • Ensure an adequate detailed design brief is in place, with full consultation, in accordance with the actual situation on site
  • Ensure that the design is independently checked for concept, structural adequacy and compliance with the brief
  • Oversee Temporary Works documentation to ensure it is adequately recorded and maintained within the project management systems
  • Advise the permanent works designer of any temporary conditions, or loads, that should be considered in the permanent works design
  • Mentor, coach and develop a team to enhance individual and collective skills and output
About you

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours....

To join the Engineering and Integration team in this highly involved and pivotal role, you'll hold a Civil / Structural Engineering Qualification, minimum of HNC/HND, preferably BEng, BSc or higher. In addition, you'll be a CSCS Card holder and a CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Course and completed SMSTS courses would be beneficial.

Your knowledge and experience of civil engineering of large scale projects along with strong interpersonal organisational team working skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively will be key as you look to lead and inspire a team towards industry excellence.
