As a vital member of our team operating a 24/7 service you will be providing a safe and professional service, collecting and delivering blood products, equipment and staff to hospitals, blood centres and blood collection sites throughout the country. This could include emergency 'blue light' deliveries.

We're looking for an experienced commercial driver holding a full UK driving licence. This must include C1 or C category, permitting you to drive vehicles up to and including 7.5 tonnes. Category D1 and D is also preferred. You should also be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and have experience of dealing professionally with members of the public. You will be required to work evenings, weekends, nights and bank holidays on a 24/7 roster. A uniform will be provided and you will be given an induction, training and development opportunities.

This vacancy is on a fixed term/ secondment basis for 12 months. Secondments will be considered for NHSBT staff wishing to apply for this role.

From late 2020 you will be based at our new purpose-built site in Barnsley which is just off Junction 37 of the M1. In the meantime, your base will be Leeds.
