Role

Leading Commercial Management within Utilitiesworks delivery in mobilising the necessary resources to site to maintain HS2programme and budget. Leading and managing a diverse team of operational and commercialstaff. Will be self-motivated, disciplined and commercially astute with theability to identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks, takingownership and responsibility. The successful candidate will familiarisethemselves with all contract and utility specific information relating to HS2MWCC and actively ensure these are followed and delivered by the teams acrossall delivery areas, working from the Core Utility Team.

Excellent communication and customer facingskills are a must, along with working as part of a team promoting our JVculture and values. Will consider problems as a challenge, collect informationrelevant to the problem, be disciplined in ascertaining the root cause,identify and develop a practical solution, communicate the findings andimplement action to resolve the problem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take a leading role in multi-disciplinary "Squad"reviews to influence and determine procurement and packaging strategies.
  • Active participant in collaborativemulti-disciplinary planning meetings.
  • Devising tender competition strategies and scoringmatrices to ensure that the most appropriate supply chain is engaged.
  • Commenting upon and drafting of subcontractworks information, site information and tender documentation.
  • Drafting Subcontract Data, selectingcontractual options, drafting schedules of variations to contract, assessingsubcontract scope to draft pricing schedules.
  • Reviewing all tender documentation to ensureconsistency and compatibility with contractual and project requirements.
  • Setting strategies for and responding totender queries, leading mid and post tender interviews.
  • Tender reviewer and verifying and validatingof tender reports and recommendations.
  • Approving subcontracts for governance andexecution.
  • Commercial management of significantsubcontract packages through to final certification including change controland management with the area teams
  • Budget setting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Understand the Client and Joint VenturePartners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutoryrequirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that therequirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on theproject.

Ihre Qualifikationen

Required qualifications, skills,behaviours and attributes
  • RICS/CICES accredited Degree (or equivalent)
  • Full Membership of RICS or CICES (orequivalent)
  • Post-graduate commercial experience in theconstruction industry with demonstrable track record of achievement
  • Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen
  • Demonstrable experience in deliveringcommercial leadership on utility based projects or works
  • Extensive experience of drafting effectivecontractual correspondence and the facilitation of collaborative solutions
  • Demonstrable legal, contractual andconstruction knowledge and experience
  • Experience in implementing and deliveringstrategic objectives and associated change programmes
  • Confidence and ability to assert influence
  • Acreative, strategic and innovative approach to problem-solving
