MATCHESFASHION are revolutionising the way we communicate with our customers at every touchpoint to ensure we are delighting our customers and exceeding their expectations, whilst driving the overall growth of the brand's audience and their engagement in accordance with our expansion plans.

To help us achieve this, our creative agency, communications & brand marketing teams recently united together as one Brand and Content Team to cover the full customer journey, creating opportunities to streamline and review our marketing proposition, and further elevate our customer experience.

These changes have led to the creation of a new Head of Creative role in the team, to which this Video Editor role will report into.


What you will be doing

Content Creation

  • Creating video content in line with visual identity and social-first strategy, ensuring that key messages are met.
Working collaboratively with the editorial team and the design team.

Supporting the Creative Director and Head of Creative with developing concepts and storyboards.

Developing a network of talented creatives, freelance editors and motion graphics designers and working collaboratively with these when required.

Researching reference material, music, and finding innovative new video content.

Quickly creating rough cuts and inspiring mood videos.

Working with the Design team to create and implement graphic treatments for videos.

Feeding into shoot concepts, especially from the edit perspective.

Assisting or working as a Digi-Op on shoots, with the potential to shoot independently dependent on skillset.

Editing videos for marketing projects and internal use.

Taking a leading role in ensuring all data is backup up and organising a library of all media.

Suggesting innovative and forward-thinking ideas to further enhance our content and keep us at the cutting edge.

Assisting management of video budget where appropriate and managing personal expenses.


Adding graphics and animations to videos.

Working with external sound designers.

Compressing videos into required formats.

Acquiring music rights, maintaining any admin to document music or archive footage usage.

Completing basic inhouse grading and working with external colourists.

Communicating with stakeholders across departments for feedback and sign-off.

Background and experience needed:

Strong reel or body of work.
  • Skilled at visual storytelling.
  • An active interest in contemporary fashion, culture and design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current social media trends and how to optimise video content and views online.
  • Understanding and interest in up-and-coming platforms.
  • Experience within a fast-paced digital environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in video editing or post-production work.
Fluent in Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects.
  • Familiar with different codecs and video file types.
  • Experience managing workflows with large numbers of assets.
  • Motion graphics and animation skills.
  • Ability to work with subtitles and SRTs files creatively.
  • An interest in music and music libraries and a love of cutting edits to good music.
  • Sound design, sound mixing, scoring or post-production skills.
  • Thorough understanding of paid media advertising best practices.
  • Background in fashion and understanding of key designers.
  • Skills in Da Vinci Resolve or other grading software, experience working with colourists.
  • Experience developing video strategy across all channels (organic and paid social, marketing, editorial) to achieve commercial and brand KPIs.
Background and experience beneficial:

  • Experience with live streaming and editing content live.
  • Experience of editing UGC video.
  • Camera operation experience.

We require a talented and experienced Video Editor to develop and deliver editorial video output across all of MATCHESFASHION's on and offline channels, including web, mobile, app, social and email. As one half of the two-person Video Team, you will work closely with the Head of Creative, driving video content to the next level to ensure we are producing world-class social-first content for our customers.
