ROLE: To support our logistics roadmap, we have a fantastic opportunity for a fixed term contract Operations Manager to lead activities within the warehouse and wider business workstreams in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and automation project. Working in collaboration with the Project Manager and reporting to the Logistics Director (project sponsor), the role requires a hands-on candidate with excellent stakeholder management skills to involve all teams who will work with the new system and ensure requirements are captured and put in place, whilst managing the timelines and budget of the project.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Lead the Logistics and Operations workstreams for WMS project for a successful transition to BlueYonder WMS;
  • Provide weekly progress updates and represent operations in the monthly steering committee and exec update;
  • Managing the departments within the project workstream to deliver on time and in budget;
  • Co-ordinate the transition and go-live of new system, working closely with Logistics teams;
  • Reviewing cost reporting and validation to ensure delivered within budget;
  • Developing business cases for any change requests;
  • Working closely with Logistics Operations teams to ensure a successful handover;
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders (e.g. Warehouse, Technology, B&M, Finance, Stores, Studio, Compliance, Quality, Finance, etc.)
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture, balancing new ideas and better ways of working with timelines to ensure best system delivered for business by February 2022;
  • Mentor the internal and 3PL DC Logistics teams to upskill team members and make them self-sufficient on WMS processes and future change control.


Requirements

  • Able to demonstrate experience in warehouse logistics and system implementations, preferably with BlueYonder, RedPrairie, JDA;
  • Passionate about on time delivery and successful implementation to protect customer service;
  • Have excellent attention to detail and be quick to act with a proactive and logical approach to problem solving and correct action plans;
  • Experienced in business requirements gathering and best practice project implementation;
  • Highly analytical and capable of providing fast and accurate information, relevant to the audience;
  • Able to lead different departments across the business to achieve a common goal and timeline;
  • Demonstrate high levels of judgment in knowing where and how best to escalate issues to internal stakeholders and where to manage independently;
  • Effective in communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders (verbal and written), explaining complex issues and processes in a clear, concise and measured manner;
  • Able to switch seamlessly between tasks and adapt quickly to new conditions, strategies or role requirements;
  • Demonstrate experience of working in a dynamic operational environment individually and as part of a professional, high performing team;
  • Able to maintain performance under pressure;
  • Be confident, disciplined and tenacious;
  • Supply Chain experience in a retail fashion ecommerce environment is desired but not essential;
  • All applicants must hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Able to commute to our warehouse in NW London.
