Brief Description

This position is a Workforce Development Specialist/Technical Trainer role.

You will deliver technical signalling training as part of the delivery of the curriculum for the Level 3 Rail Engineering Technician apprenticeship scheme, acting as learning mentor to apprentices and manage the assessment process. You will be training the decision makers and leaders of the future and will help to nurture their development within Network Rail.

Some travel will be required.

Applicants will have a proven history of signalling engineering and signalling systems.

Interviews will be week commencing 26th April - candidates will be asked to do a 15 minute presentation on a topic of their choice.

About the role (External)

What will you be doing?

• Using blended delivery skills, develop inspirational technical, safety and vocational training interventions to a high standard

• Ensure the training experience is enjoyable and insightful for all involved

• Set an example, always promote safety awareness and be compliant in safety procedures

• Keep up to date with relevant and regulated competencies, knowledge and adult education capability.

• Develop and improve the training and assessment materials to stay relevant

• Fairly assess the capability of delegates and provide them the facilitated opportunity to learn. Support the assessment and evaluation of training impact at course end and at appropriate post training intervals.

• Support the Workforce Development Manager with Training-Needs-Analysis, programme design, evaluation, team dynamics, centre performance and reputation. Demonstrating a flexible approach to the achievement of the objectives of Competence & Training (and Network Rail).

• Demonstrate a personal commitment to continuous improvement within the training centre

What skills do you need?

Essential
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Thorough knowledge of the technical, safety or vocational capability relevant to the discipline of the role (Track Maintenance Functions/Track renewals)
  • Ability to affect a culture change
  • Ability to motivate and inspire
