We’re looking for an Assistant Director, Head of Health and Protection to lead the strategy, development and promotion of ABI policy on health and protection insurance. You’ll represent the collective interests of this industry and its customers to government, Parliament, and other stakeholders.
We are open to flexible, part time and/or job share working – please let us know if this would be your preference. We work in a hybrid way with at least 40% of time in the office.
What’s the job?

Lead our relationship with the Department of Health and Social Care, the Independent Health Providers Network and other important stakeholders in this space.

Put forward credible, evidence-based policy positions to government to inform the policymaking process on issues including workplace health and health outcomes, the future of genetic testing, insurance and mental, critical illness, product distribution, and patient safety.

Represent the interests of the UK’s health and protection markets to key stakeholders (government, regulators, the third sector), in the media, and by speaking at conferences and events.

Lead the work of the Health & Protection Board, an ABI Board Committee, and ensure we advance credible positions which reflect the views of members and their impact on consumers.

Cultivate strong and enduring relationships with senior member executives in the health and protection markets, as well as other stakeholders.

Line manage, develop and motivate a small, high-performing team.
