What hours are available?

You can express a preference for a Full Time or Part Time shift pattern when you apply. Whichever you choose, the shifts you work will be approximately 8.5 hours long.

Full Time:

Core Combination (F/T): Mixed early (starting as early as 04:15), late (finishing as late as 22:45) and some night shifts (e.g. 21:00 - 06:00). Four days on, two days off.

Part Time:

Core Combination (P/T): Mixed early (starting as early as 04:15), late (finishing as late as 22:45) and some night shifts (e.g. 21:00 - 06:00). Equates to an average of 20 hours worked per week.

Once you've completed your training, you'll know your shifts 12 months in advance, so you can plan around them. Swaps are often possible, providing even greater flexibility, but it's important that you're available for all shifts on the pattern you apply for.

Heathrow is a great place to work. Our colleagues take pride in being part of a successful and iconic brand. Life at Heathrow can be dynamic and exciting – it offers fun, teamwork and fantastic opportunities. We value our colleagues and put their wellbeing at the heart of our culture. We champion diversity and inclusion. We also help and encourage our colleagues to give something back to good causes. And we live by our values. For us, that means: Working together, keeping everyone safe, doing the right thing, treating others with respect, giving excellent service and improving every day.

Diversity is at the heart of Heathrow and always will be. Every single day we welcome passengers and colleagues with unique backgrounds and needs, from across the planet. Our vision is to deliver the best airport service in the world, and we recognise that embracing diversity is critical. We not only need the best and the brightest people working with us, but teams that bring together a variety of experiences and perspectives, that challenge the status quo, innovate and push each other to be better every day.

With diversity at our heart, over the past few years we have refined the way we work. We have four diversity networks, which focus on gender, sexuality, disability and ethnicity – giving our colleagues a platform to support each other. Our networks implement their own inclusion initiatives; we’re proud of their achievements so far and excited about their future. In 2018 these networks ran dozens of events: from an airport wide Pride campaign, to setting a new Guinness World Record for the heaviest aircraft to be pulled over 100 metres by a team of 98 people in wheelchairs.

As a disability confident employer, we are determined to continue learning. We want to build an ever more inclusive environment, adapting our processes to make them as suitable as possible for you.

To discuss our recruitment processes, or request an adjustment, you can contact our OneHR team via recruitment_queries@heathrow.com or phoning 0800 561 6060. We are committed to ensuring that no candidates are disadvantaged through our recruitment process due to disability.
