Are you a visionary digital producer with a track record of creativity and innovation in digital production?

Are you looking for an opportunity to produce content for one of the media industries' most ambitious original social production teams and have an impact on how young audiences engage with iPlayer?

The TV Social team is looking for an ambitious and creative 'Content Producer' to join TV Social's Original Production team, working alongside our social campaign, publishing and edit teams. Reporting into a Senior Content Producer you will help to produce high-impact and original digital assets promoting all priority BBC iPlayer titles, from Planet Earth to Drag Race UK, working with some the BBC's biggest talent and some of the most up and coming Content Creators to produce distinctive and ground-breaking social media content that sparks viral conversations across the internet.
Working as part of a newly expanded digital production team that creates youth skewing original content for some of the UK's biggest social media brands including @BBC, @BBCiPlayer and @BBCThree. That content will introduce youth audiences to our shows and encourage them to spend time with iPlayer and ensure our new TV Social team delivers on its objective to make iPlayer the most viewed media brand among 13-34-year-olds.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced digital Assistant Producer or Producer itching for a new challenge.

Main Responsibilities

This role is for someone with strong filming skills, as you will be behind the camera capturing a range of content from repeatable formats to bespoke content. You will also have a creative eye for spotting great locations or dreaming up ideas for sets with the support of the wider Original Production team. And you will be flexible enough to devise the right tone on a range of shows from Rap Game UK to Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Researching and generating ideas for a range of BBC iPlayer shows
  • Planning and organising shoots.
  • Filming, editing, and producing on a range of content.
  • Media managing and edit assisting.


Are you the right candidate?

You will be a creative, digital innovator who has a track record of making great content.

You will have:
  • Strong filming skills with combined lighting & self-shooting experience
  • Experience of working in a studio and on location working with talent
  • Adobe know-how - proficient in Premiere Pro (required), basic After Effects skills (desirable)
  • An excellent understanding of social media and optimising content for multiple platforms
  • Experience of post-shoot media managing and post-production processes
  • A track record of exciting ideas and original takes that fly on social.
  • A keen eye for up-and-coming trends and contributors
  • Experience in handling multiple projects at once
  • Initiative when it comes to technical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a knowledge handling production paperwork

Job Impact

Decision making The Assistant Producer may report to various roles, depending on the area of which they are working in, but can range from a Producer to an Executive Producer. The job holder will receive an appropriate level of editorial guidance and direction. Scope The role of the Assistant Producer is to assist the Producer/Executive Producer or similar to create content for a specific area of interest, and to supervise different stages of the production process using broad production skills gained with experience in a production environment.
