Job Details
Location: Broad Oak or alternative BAE sites such as, Great Baddow or Isle of Wight. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements
Salary: £38,540 - £51,380 depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
• Undertake Training Media development in support of instructional design activities in accordance with a recognised Systems Approach to Training
• Undertake and support Solution integration & acceptance activities
• Interaction with the Customer and Stakeholder regarding the training requirement
• Provide advice on Media and Media Development activities to Technical and Engineering authorities
• Support the procurement of training media
• Develop training media as identified by the Instructional Design Team against the specified style guide and/or standards. Take ownership of, lead and manage allocated tasks whilst monitoring the progress, quality and performance, of the team reporting as required and seeking assistance when necessary
• Ensure compliance and coherence with the development plan, schedule and supporting documentation
• Utilise other toolsets as required and directed by the business (e.g. LCMS), in accordance with the directed and agreed approach
• Support all governance activities as required
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
• Have an understanding of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT), including the DSAT Quality Management Standard (QMS) and DSAT guidance documentation
• Have knowledge and experience of current training methods and media, including multimedia, simulation, Virtual Reality (VR) and experienced in the development of 2d vector and raster-based graphics, using technical and engineering source data to aid media development
• Be able to provide reasonable estimates for allocated tasks but report, during development, with a reasoned view as to why the original estmate is now deemed unsound
• They will be able to apply already tailored standards to meet the needs of the project without going against the principle and direction
• Report progress of tasks as required by more senior members of the team and/or the Media Capabilty Engineering Manager
Desirable:
• Knowledge of Royal Navy surface fleet branch structures and their associated training pipelines would be advantageous
• Ideally have experience of developing technical training content for military materiel
• Have an understanding of 3d vector development sufficient to direct the work of 3d media specialists

The Type 26 team:
The Type 26 Team consists of 30-40 training professionals, that are developing and delivering training platforms for Type 26 Service. This team is introducing and developing new toolsets, as well as ways of working.
As a Media Developer, you will have the skills and experience to support development of Customer Training electronic materials - nominally media content for courseware products. This requires close working with the Instructional Design Team to translate the initial storyboard media into high-quality & impactful training media content.
