Job title: Senior Flight Systems Engineer

Location: Warton

Salary: £45,326 - £49,834 (Dependent on skill and experience)

What you'll be doing:

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Flight Systems Engineer will involve:

• Producing and issuing Flight Systems engineering data to meet project requirements in line with agreed standards and procedures, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence.

• Liaising with other engineering and project areas in a collaborative environment to develop engineering solutions.

• Performing engineering tasks dependent on lifecycle phase which could include requirements development, system and equipment design and development, modelling and analysis, system integration, qualification and certification, and testing.

• Writing specifications, reports and proposals

• Opportunity to support numerous projects and platforms in both the air and maritime sector, covering a diverse range of mechanical, electrical and fluid systems.

• Providing guidance and coaching to other team members.

• Steering new systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes.

• Working with customers to support delivered systems and resolve issues.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• HNC or higher qualifications or equivalent experience in relevant STEM subject (Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Physics/Maths/Science)

• Demonstrable knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle with ability to apply good systems engineering practices to your work

• Background in Mechanical, Electrical or Fluid Systems Engineering, preferably in an aerospace application

• Ability to apply previous learning and experience to offer guidance, support and leadership to others

• Ability to effectively research system design data and apply to complex problems and experience of system modelling and simulation toolsets would be highly beneficial.

Preferable

Demonstrable experience of at least one or more of the following :

• Model-based systems engineering principles, tools and techniques

• Crew systems, thermal management / environmental control systems, electrical power generation and distribution, flying controls, propulsion integration, actuation systems including electrical, and systems health management

• Control system design, and modelling and simulation of both classical and advanced control systems

• Experience in designing, developing and supporting Flight Systems products in an engineering environment

• A background in developing products within the broader systems engineering lifecycle
