JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.

The purpose of this job is to conduct efficiently and effectively all NDI facets of testing and inspection of RSAF Aircraft and associated sub systems, including AGE related equipment. This includes both first and second line bay workshop maintenance and servicing activities and the implementation of TCTO's to PC21,T-22, T-165 and Tornado aircraft and assets, thus providing operationally ready aircraft in support of Aircrew Training Flight Operations.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • To provide operationally capable aircraft in support of KFAA Officer and Aircrew (O&AT) pilot training programmes through the application of detailed NDT techniques to products or parts within the limits of their qualification.
  • Ensure compliance with prescribed standards of Quality, Safety and RSAF Directives.
  • Be able to prepare NDT procedures and written instructions, interpret and evaluate inspection results.
  • Establish inspection criteria and acceptance/rejection criteria to recognised Aerospace Standards.
  • To provide informal and formal On the Job Training (OJT) for both RSAF and Bae systems Saudi National personnel to enable either RSAF or civilian Saudisation of O&AT Intermediate Maintenance Operations.
  • Able to acquire user expertise and become conversant with the RSAF aircraft data management system - MIRO GOLD.
  • Comply with both RSAF and Part 145 AMO Safety Management system programmes.
Aircraft Maintenance and Planning
  • Organizing maintenance as required to meet flying operations.
  • Planning ahead for any changes in the daily/weekly flying program and managing manpower and resources accordingly.
Co-ordination of Technical Activities
  • Ensures that sound maintenance practices and documentation procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ascertains that pre use checks are carried out as required, on the equipment used in completing the task.
Manpower training and Certification
  • Provides on-the-job theory and practical training.
  • Promotes the personal development of themselves and others.
  • Assesses the competency of team personnel and informs the NDI Supervisor of any deficiencies.
  • Certifies personnel for specific tasks when certified as a 'Work Place Trainer'.
Managerial Responsibilities
  • Deputises, if required, for the NDI Supervisor.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relations with Quality as well as internal and external customers.
  • Ensure accurate information flow is maintained to and from their designated area of responsibility.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential
  • Must be trained in aircraft engineering or a related technical discipline at a civilian or military school of technical training, or have completed an appropriate engineering apprenticeship.
  • Must possess Level 2 NDI Qualifications in all 5 Basic NDI Methods to EN 4179 Standards or International equivalents recognised civilian or military organisation.
  • Have a proven working Knowledge of both CAA and FAA Aerospace Specifications/regulations pertaining to NDT Process controls and procedures.
  • Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type
  • Be able to motivate people in a mixed EE/SN workforce
  • Must be able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues
  • Support the NDT Supervisor in the assigned work areas during periods of absence by the incumbent.
  • Have current knowledge and experience associated with aircraft maintenance, quality assurance, logistical support, and repairable asset management
  • Computer literacy is essential, with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, GOLDesp systems.
  • Must hold a current driving licence Graduate of a military service, or recognised civilian organisation, aircraft technical training institute.
Desirable
  • A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to their work area
  • An understanding of the RSAF Operation and working practices
  • Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS and thorough understanding of M&CA mandates and processes.
