Buyer - Indirect Procurement (French & English Speaking)
Location: Beauvais (Hybrid working - 2/3 days in office)


We are looking for an experience procurement professional to join our global Indirect Procurement team, based out of Beauvais. You'll be working with some incredible people, and will quickly see why RS France has been awarded the "Great Place to Work" accreditation.

What you will be doing:

Working for the Indirect Procurement Sourcing Manager EMEA, you will be responsible for sourcing and category management of indirect goods and services. The Indirect Procurement functions manage over £400m of annual spend across the Group, and you will support local stakeholders and the Global team to ensure value for money is achieved across 3rd party spend.

The role will be responsible for national spend in France and delivery of Global Procurement initiatives across a number of category areas, aligning to the wider global team.

Main Responsibilities:

Category Management
  • Review and apply category management tools & techniques for competitive sourcing and negotiation
  • Prepare and execute category strategies for all major indirect categories including the use of Procurement Levers to increase influence with suppliers
  • Drive innovation and cost down
  • Communication of global spend strategies and contract governance in France

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
  • Segment suppliers according to the commercial policy risk assessment to identify high risks
  • Management of strategic supplier relationships to maximise value for money. Use methodologies to provide clear auditable evidence of action and improvement
  • Review new vendor requests with stakeholders and support the Vendor Onboarding Team
  • Complete qualification of new suppliers and re-qualification of existing suppliers using the new vendor onboarding process

Stakeholder Support
  • Develop a rapport and build trust with key stakeholders to lead sourcing and evaluation in a virtual environment
  • Be an ambassador for Procurement and lead effective communication of global spend strategies and contract governance. Work with markets to embed new procurement practices and act as an advisor for commercial and procurement queries
  • Provide best practice training, advice and support to challenge sourcing strategies for both Indirect Procurement categories and Direct stock purchases
  • Support the translation of key documents alongside the Procurement Governance Manager
  • Work with senior stakeholders to improve the value chain and optimise existing contracts in line with RS Group procurement policy, compliance and control
  • Manage key stakeholders across markets and functions to ensure that projects are implemented within agreed timescales
  • Develop a local communications strategy to keep stakeholders informed of progress and benefits of the procurement pipeline
  • Work effectively with all levels of management and other colleagues to demonstrate initiative, effective commercial judgement and the ability to anticipate the needs of the business

Data Integrity and Management
  • Be responsible for spend data and work with the Procurement Insight Manager to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for your categories and for your market to keep stakeholders updated and drive decision making and compliance
  • Support the annual budget process providing key market data and inflationary impact
  • Report deliverables regularly for all workstreams

ESG
  • Support the "net zero" targets for the business and ensure category strategies and buying decisions are aligned to this
  • Demonstrate a sustainable and ethical approach which is consistent with the company's values, principles and policies
  • Monitor supplier progress on key ESG and compliance requirements, collect data and update all reporting tools
  • With support from the Indirect Commercial Delivery team and Product Management team, design and implement a process for tracing, calculating and periodically evaluating the end-to-end carbon impact of key goods and services across Direct and Indirect Procurement

Contract Management
  • Create clear end to end plans for category opportunities from data gathering through to implementing agreements.
  • You will be effective at embedding change to ensure Procurement benefits are fully realised during contract lifecycle management

What we are looking for from you:

  • You will already have experience of sourcing, indirect procurement, negotiation and category management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and 3rd party suppliers
  • Experience of designing and implementing procurement solutions is essential
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the specific commercial culture in France, including Source to Contract, Contract Authoring and Negotiation and Contract Management
  • Experience in e-tendering processes and systems
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office including Excel, Microsoft Teams and Power BI
  • High energy and passionate for delivering commercial value
  • A track record of delivering demonstrable savings and efficiencies which impact the bottom line
  • Experienced in leading procurement projects from data gathering and opportunity identification, through to ensuring the benefits are realised.
  • Fluency in French and English languages
