Job Introduction

We are the Discovery and Personalisation team. A dedicated team of Product Managers at all levels with a lead engineer, delivery lead and UX designers along with research and editorial support. We work in close partnership with the Content Discovery team and our sibling verticals (Enablement, Lifecycle, Life and Playback).

We affectionately call ourselves Disco with HEAVY use of the disco ball emoji of course. We have a team charter with our values and run plenty of team building activities in our workshops and weekly sessions (ask the team about their toast making process...) and are currently forming plans for disco brunches, lunches, drinks (you get the picture).

What is our vision? We help every iPlayer user find, discover and engage with content they love, every day, so they are wow by the experience. They will be so delighted that they will recommend us to their friends and family!

How we do this? We turbocharge the experiences using technology, data, creative, content and operations to make it iPlayer easy, quick and personally relevant for every user, every day... making it a habit. Are are currently focusing on the homepage, search, franchises and a wider personalisation of the iPlayer journeys.

How do we measure success? We increase our weekly users, we get them to consume more weekly, and we get them to come more often. This means more retention, less users abandon the session, shorter time to viewing, users increase the number of programmes they watch with us in a week.

We work hard to come up with impactful initiatives that all drive iPlayer to become the no1. Streaming service in the UK but we also make sure that we have fun with it and the level of collaboration and support in our team is incredible.
