Field-Based, Full-Time Opportunity

Here at RS, we have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to come and join our innovative and successful company as a National Account Manager.

We aren't a company that stands still, and RS recognises that world-class teams need the best equipment, processes, and systems. As such we provide world-class working conditions; removing distractions and enabling you to focus on what's important. In this digital age, technology, and commercial thinking changes rapidly. We continue to develop ours and want you to be part of that evolution.

We take great pride in the investment we make in our people, so you will not stand-still in this role - we will provide you with the training, support, and opportunities for progression that you need to take your career to the next level. This is your opportunity to be a part of an open, diverse, and truly world-class sales team!

Who you are and what you enjoy doing to be a success in this role:

  • You are someone who enjoys accountability and the responsibility that comes with managing large, high-value accounts.
  • You have previous experience overseeing growth in B2B accounts across the UK and have a proven record of adding real value to your clients' businesses.
  • A people-person, you understand that successfully growing your accounts can only happen through developing strong relationships with your stakeholders and a 360 understanding of their businesses.
  • You have previous experience of taking that 360 understanding to identify pain-points and challenges your customers are encountering and look to provide solutions to those issues.
  • You are someone who not only has experience of working with multinational/large UK Plc's, but you enjoy the responsibility and the demands working with such organisations brings.
  • The relationship you have with the stakeholders on your accounts is not purely transactional, and you work to ensure you create sustainable trusted partner relationships.
  • Possessing an understanding of how to create customer need and opportunities, you are someone who takes a solutions-led, consultative approach to what you do.
  • And to top it all off, you are definitely someone who holds a current UK Driver's Licence!

A bit about what you will be doing in this role:

You will be first choice for our customers, working to build effective networks at senior levels across a variety of departments to help create engagement and consensus across the board. You will also develop, negotiate, and implement great commercial contracts. To achieve these goals, you will need to:

  • Develop and leverage constructive relationships within your accounts to gain access to decision makers and establish partnerships.
  • Present solution proposals to decision makers and engage them through consultation to secure commercial partnerships.
  • Provide quarterly business forecasts to highlight new opportunity, review contract performance against target and identify sales planning to secure contracted revenue.
  • Work effectively with colleagues across the group such as Key Account Managers and Customer Relationship Managers to maximise opportunity for both RS and the customer.
  • Review business opportunities for RS to utilise our service and solution offerings, aligning our ability to demonstrate value to our customers.
  • Conduct internal and external research to identify customer's requirements and opportunities to develop future activity plans.

What can you expect from us?

At RS, as well as the usual employee benefits you'd expect from a FTSE listed company, including annual performance bonus, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, private healthcare, and generous annual leave, in the UK&I, we've just introduced a number of new Family Friendly Policies including:

  • Help for people to take control of ongoing Health conditions such as diabetes or asthma with £500 a year available for monitoring & consultation.
