Role Description
The purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with other IT and change professionals and sponsors to realise business benefits though the delivery of complex projects, programmes or portfolio. They will also contribute to the IT Portfolio's strategy and development of the PM Practice while mentoring members of the profession.
Responsibilities
Planning, Scheduling & Delivery
- Define and manage plans and schedules ensuring accurate estimate of cost, time and resource requirements taking into account any dependencies to ensure the successful delivery of a change initiative to agreed metrics/success
Financial & Budget Management
- Plan and control the finances and budgets for change initiatives, to control forecast and actual costs against the budgets in accordance with the organisation's overall financial management
Value & Benefits Management
- Establishes value and benefits plan including tracking and realisation processes
Requirements & Solutions Management
- Prepare and maintain definition of the Business and IT requirements and determine the best means of satisfying them within the context of the change initiative's objectives and constraints
Resource & Supplier Management
- Identify and manage the resources needed for change initiative(s) from internal and/or external providers, taking account of availabilities and scheduling including the procurement and contracts for the provision of goods and/or services, monitoring compliance to Allianz standards and managing variances
Quality Management & Governance
- Develop, maintain and apply quality management and governance structures that define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for delivery of change initiative activities and outputs, reporting on progress to relevant project board/governance forum that align with organisational practice gaining appropriate authorisation for revision to plan from sponsor and change practices
Change & Stakeholder Management
- Works with the project sponsor, change practices, IT and Business representatives to ensure appropriate change management, communications, training and service/business readiness plans for the successful acceptance of change and movement into Operations (Business as Usual).
Leadership & Team Management
- Act as a leader and role model fostering excellent team spirit in the team providing vision and purpose for the delivery and aligning/defining roles and responsibilities if needed
Ethics, Professionalism, & People Attributes
- Ethically, morally, legally and socially appropriate manner in dealings with stakeholders and members of project teams and the organisation
- Supports continuous improvement through lessons learnt and adherence to Allianz internal Business and IT standards.
Technical Skills:
- Project Management technical skills including organisation, governance, estimation, planning, scheduling, tracking, reporting and risk/issue management
- Excellent change management skills including communications and ability to effectively manage stakeholders up to and including board (C-suite level)
- Excellent financial planning and budget management skills, including business cases
- Proficient in Project Management & Office tools such as MS Office Suite, MS Project or Planview.
Experience:
- Experience within various different industries but specifically Financials Services, preferable IT and Insurance
- Project and change delivery experience, having delivered a variety of different types, size and complexity from end to end
- Financial and budget management for medium to large sized change initiatives
- Experience of resource management with internal (including offshore) and/or external (3rd Party) providers
- Leadership experience, having led medium to large teams across multiple UK sites/locations being able to influence across all levels
- Ability to delegate, refine roles and responsibilities and work with remote teams
- Experience of problem solving and facilitation and using various change management techniques and delivery methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile.
Qualifications:
- Professionally qualified within Project Management - APM PPQ, or PMI/equivalent preferred
- Professionally qualified in Project, Programme or Portfolio Methodologies - minimum Practitioner Level in at least 2 of Prince2, Agile, MSP, MOP or equivalent.
