Role Description

The Business Information Security Officer (BISO) will act as the primary information security contact for the assigned business units within Allianz. The BISO will partner with business leaders to integrate information security into the business strategies and operations, ensuring that information assets are adequately protected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison between the business units and the Information Security team to ensure that security standards and requirements are communicated and implemented effectively
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations
  • Align information security strategies with business goals and objectives, ensuring that security is a business enabler and not just a technical solution
  • Provide guidance on information security matters, including risk management, data protection, and incident response
  • Develop and report on key information security metrics to measure the effectiveness of the security program and inform business decisions
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of security-related products and services
  • Monitor the external threat environment for emerging threats and advise relevant stakeholders on the appropriate courses of action
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies as required and ensure that the organisation is compliant with relevant industry standards and practices
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, to raise awareness and support for information security initiatives

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Substantial experience in information security, with a focus on business information security
  • Strong understanding of information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT) and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Proven ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessment and management processes
  • Experience in leading and managing security projects and initiatives
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
