The purpose of this role is to maximise the value Allianz can generate from data. Working within the Data Transformation Team and alongside the Transformation Business domains you will be tasked with progressing the integration of our Data Value Management capabilities such as; Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Master and Reference Data Management. This actively will be conducted at the individual data point level working an orderly fashion to document and agree with stakeholders the information required to manage our data effectively in the BMP (BUSINESS MASTER PLATFORM) future state.
You will be a new entrant to data or could be an existing data professional who wishes to get more involved with the Transformation Programme and new areas of data. You will have an appreciation for business, as well as an excellent communicator with some stakeholder management skills to gain greater insight of their data requirements and effectively drive Allianz UK Data Strategy.
At Allianz we are one of the largest general insurers in the UK, which means we have lots of IT (Information Technology) and data legacy to work with, but we are on a transformation journey harnessing Cloud capabilities and innovative data software. The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Collect and perform Data mapping & Gap analysis to ensure our To-Be systems capture the necessary data required to support our business processes.
- Collect and perform analysis of Critical Data to support embedding of Data Governance and Quality across Transformation programme using available tools and processes (Business Glossary, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Quality, etc).
- Support the implementation of data management concepts, frameworks and associated best practices supporting expansion of Data Literacy across Transformation.
- Support the adoption of Data Ownership framework and Data Asset Cataloguing in the Transformation Programme.
- Support a better understanding of the value of data with stakeholders and users and contribute to improvements in data management, quality, and governance.
- Maintain relationship with our business customers, in order help to identify improvement opportunities by understanding specific business area's value drivers and help recommend value-driven solutions to key stakeholders.
- Deliver hands on analysis of datasets through data profiling and cleansing tools.
- Trouble shooting hurdles limiting the business adoption of data processes and tools.
- Work autonomously and within a highly skilled team to deliver both business process and technology enabled business change.
About You:
- Some knowledge and/or awareness in data management (Metadata, MDM/RDM, Modelling, etc) with an enthusiasm to learn about other areas.
- Awareness of the Informatica governance toolset (i.e. AXON & EDC (Enterprise Data Catalogue)) would be desirable although full training will be provided
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express technical concepts in an everyday language and comfortable with engaging with business people on the subject of data to encourage their continuing data journey.
- Some experience of data manipulation and analysis but strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills are more desirable.
- Awareness of working in an Agile project environment or managing large items of work- ideally in the context of data
- An interest in developing new skills and a passion to learn, and an inquisitive mind to join data and business value across a complex landscape
- Excellent communication skills, team player, self-starter, great attention to detail, and an efficient & results-oriented working style, and positive, pragmatic attitude.
- Organised, demonstrated strong work ethic, results driven and able to hit deadline, and be a team player with the ability to work in cross-functional and international teams
- Excellent Excel skills, with strong working knowledge of formulas and functionalities
