In this pivotal leadership role, you'll be at the forefront of promoting and embedding Underwriting Excellence across our distribution network and sales teams. Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate a high-performing team culture, ensuring the delivery of technical excellence and unmatched service standards.
As the key liaison between Head Office Underwriting and our sales and agency networks, you'll play a crucial role in communicating and implementing our underwriting strategies. You'll coordinate key initiatives and develop strong relationships to enhance both customer satisfaction and financial performance. Additionally, you'll support agents in achieving commercial growth ambitions that align with the organisation's strategic growth strategy.
You'll support commercial-focused agencies, collaborating across various teams to ensure the seamless implementation of underwriting policies and procedure. This position requires a robust technical understanding, though it does not entail direct underwriting authority. You'll engage closely with Regional and Sales Development Managers, leading quarterly performance meetings and offering critical underwriting support for strategic discussions.
This role offers a diverse and dynamic blend of sales, relationship management, and technical experience, along with a broad range of opportunities for career development within the company.
About you
You're a credible technical leader with substantial experience in general insurance, specifically in commercial lines underwriting. Your strategic thinking is complimented by a profound understanding of risk appetite and the commercial insurance landscape.
You'll demonstrate:
- Comprehensive insurance expertise, with a deep knowledge of commercial underwriting, coupled with experience across other functions such as sales and pricing.
- Strategic technical leadership, with a proven ability to drive service excellence and underwriting standards.
- Technical leadership skills, with a focus on driving service standards and underwriting excellence.
- Influential gravitas with the ability to engage, influence, and build strong relationships with senior stakeholder across various functions, ensuring collaborative success.
- Strong resilience and problem-solving skills with the aptitude for navigating and overcoming challenges, maintaining composure, and achieving results under pressure.
- An understanding of the insurance sales environment, with a focus on leveraging commercial acumen to drive business outcomes.
- Expertise in analysing management information and translating technical performance data into actionable strategic recommendations for diverse audiences.
