Job Title: C4 Daytime & 4Seven Scheduler
Contract: 12 month FTC

Channel Management is responsible for constructing the overall shape of all the schedules within the C4 portfolio - from generating long term programme strategy to building the current schedule for transmission. The team ensures that schedules are compliant with Ofcom regulation as well as meeting editorial and commercial objectives.
The department plays a critical role within the company and maintains key relationships across most areas including Commissioning, Programme Acquisition, All4, Marketing, Press, Consumer Insight, Advertising Sales, Sponsorship, Programme Finance and Commercial Affairs.
This role works across the C4 Daytime schedule and reports to the C4 Channel Manager. The aim of the role is to be responsible for the efficient management of the Daytime schedules both on weekdays and at weekends. This role is also responsible for the day to day management of the 4Seven schedule and has a dotted reporting line into E4/M4/4Seven Channel Manager. This role is also required to provide editorial support to the Channel Managers and the Head of Portfolio Management.
. Taking the lead in the day to day running and planning of both the C4 Daytime and 4seven schedule.
. Providing editorial support to the Channel Manager and Daytime Commissioning Team and offering creative ideas that are suitable for the channel.
. Keeping the Commissioning teams and Programme Acquisitions up-to-date with the latest Daytime schedule needs for the short, medium and long-term, in consultation with the Channel Manager.
. Managing the short, medium and long-term C4 Daytime and 4 Seven schedules in A55 (the scheduling system), working closely with the C4 Senior Planner.
. Preparing the C4 Daytime and 4seven schedules for the week to press accurately and on deadline each week working closely with the Channel Manager and the Senior Planner.
. Liaising with Presentation, Media Planning, Marketing, Listings, Breaks, Sponsorship and Commissioning during the week to press cycle and ensuring the editorial and commercial objectives of each channel are supported by these respective teams with regard to the schedule.
. Working with the Senior Planner to ensure the fine detail of the Daytime and 4seven schedule works and is complimentary with the C4 Peak schedule and with other channels in the C4 Portfolio.
. Check and analyse audience figures daily and work closely with the Schedule Analyst and Consumer insight team to ensure that schedule decisions are made with audience data front of mind. Track and report weekly performance to ensure targets are met and issues are flagged.
. Manage the Daytime budget on a day to day basis, working closely with finance team and the Channel Manager.
. Work closely with the Programme Acquisition team to manage Daytime film stock and acquisition series stock.
. Work closely with the C4 Sport Commissioning team to ensure that events are agreed and reflected in the schedule, referring any issues to the Channel Manager.
. Be thoroughly across relevant market intelligence to have an understanding of competitor commissions and schedule plans.
. Working alongside counterparts on C4 Peak, E4 & M4, Film4 and 4Music in order to ensure the channel portfolio schedules are complementary.
. Communicating any schedule changes and working with the Senior Planner to manage any Daytime post listings issues in consultation with the Channel Manager.
. Meet weekly with Daytime Programme Co-ordinator to check delivery dates and communicate any issues as necessary.
. Lead monthly Daytime Scheduling Strategy meetings with the Channel Manager and Head of Portfolio Management.
. Attend fortnightly Daytime Commissioning Routines lead by the Director of Programmes.
. Attend fortnightly Daytime Commissioning Team brainstorming sessions.
. Attend monthly Acquisition series meetings to ensure stock is correctly managed.
. Liaise with Commissioning and Business Affairs to ensure programmes are cleared for transmission ahead of schedule release.
. Meet regularly with the Sponsorship team to update them on forward schedule plans and communicate any issues where necessary.
. Attend Monthly C4 Sports Commissioning meetings.
. On occasion be required to cover the responsibilities of the C4 Peak Scheduler (during periods of annual leave).
Essential Experience & Skills
. Relevant experience in a broadcasting environment, ideally gained in scheduling.
. Experience in and a demonstrable interest of television, programmes and scheduling.
. A detailed understanding of the television landscape is essential and knowledge of daytime content is preferable.
. Excellent planning and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
. A comprehensive understanding of audience behaviour and research.
. An ability to communicate tactfully, effectively and clearly.
. Confidence to represent the channels in delivering sensitive and detailed schedule information to a wide range of people and departments.
Desirable Experience & Skills
. Experience of analysing audience data is desirable.
