The main purpose of the role is to ensure appropriate infrastructure and configuration management, automation, monitoring, deployment, security and operating systems are in place.

What's our tech: We spend a lot of time picking and refining the right tools: Our tech stack currently includes Ruby on Rails, React.js, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Docker, AWS (cloudFormation, Ec2, S3, CloudFront, Chef et al). We have a road map for continuous deployments. We use GitHub, Atlassian, Slack, Google Hangouts et al to stay organised and in touch. We are fully agile, daily stand ups, sprints with full BDD/TDD. You will: migrate from AWS ECS / Beanstalk to AWS EKS write tooling to automate Github / Okta / Hashicorp Vault workflows and tasks migrate from Jenkins to Jenkins X automate project delivery using Helm, Skaffold and Jenkins 2 / Jenkins X develop Jenkins 2 shared libraries work with projects to follow the data strategy and implement data lake / hub write cloudformation templates in Ruby DSL to automate infrastructure provisioning. Continuously improve and develop Citizens Advice capability to thrive in the digital space.
What do we Expect From you: Ability to set DevOps direction by anticipating technological developments to keep activity relevant and targeted; spotting warning signs of things going wrong and providing a decisive response to delivery challenges; and drawing together and presenting reasonable conclusions from a wide range of incomplete and complex evidence and data - able to act or decide even when details are not clear Ability to collaborate inventively, generously and responsibly, seeking constructive outcomes in discussions, challenging assumptions but remaining willing to compromise when needed Exceptional digital DevOps literacy, including operating systems, experience of multiple programming languages, common deployment patterns, continuous integration, capacity planning, load and performance testing techniques, highly-available systems design, administration and tuning of production database systems, installation and usage of monitoring tools; for instance Nagios, Ganglia, Riemann, Graphite, etc; knowledge of configuration, deployment and management of web application stacks; and configuration management tools like Chef or Ansible Ability to deliver at pace, maintaining effective performance in difficult and challenging circumstances, encouraging others to do the same; reviewing, challenging and adjusting performance levels to ensure quality outcomes are delivered on time Experience with Amazon Web Services with provisioning, compliance, auditing and security. 18265 job pack.pdf
