You will be joining other graduates on this scheme and the Met Office is proud to have a community of apprentices, industrial placements and graduates who support each other with projects, set up lunch groups and socials.

The Business Graduate scheme is a fantastic chance to explore our business, put into practice what you have learnt at university and really make a difference.

Our Business Graduate role offers graduates the opportunity to gather industry experience, working on operational projects and cultivating your future career path.

Tell me a little more about what you do….

The Met Office’s purpose is to ‘work at the forefront of weather and climate science for protection, prosperity and wellbeing’. Like millions, you probably know us best for the weather that you hear on the news or read on your phone, but did you know that our forecasts reach as far as space? Or that organisations across the world – from governments and the military to retail and utility companies rely on our expertise?

One area of the Met Office cannot function without the other. Engineers keep data flowing, scientific software engineers make data meaningful, and our sales, marketing, consultancy and communication professionals ensure our forecasts and meteorological products and services reach our customers.

The Business Graduate role sits within our Business Group whose work is to create valuable weather and climate information for industry decision makers so they can operate safely, efficiently and successfully. Business Group prioritises activities that drive wider value to the Met Office and Socio-economic benefit to the UK. Our services help Aviation, Surface Transport, Energy, Infrastructure and Industry customers to safely and efficiently manage their operations, make informed business choices, safeguard critical infrastructure and manager weather and climate risks.
