Job Description

Expected start date: September 2019 

What you will do: 

Your apprenticeship will take the form of one year at Level 3. Upon successful completion of the Level 3 apprenticeship programme and satisfactory performance, conduct and attendance, you will continue to Level 4 for a further 18-month period in your particular field. You will have exposure to agile working principles as well as more traditional methodologies and ways of working whilst being supported by your manager and a buddy.

• Software Developer 
• Infrastructure Engineer 
• Infrastructure Engineer (Security) 
• Infrastructure Engineer (WebOps)

The organisation 

HM Land Registry is a successful, high-performing, innovative organisation. For more than 150 years, we have protected and guaranteed people’s land and property rights by keeping and maintaining the Land Register for England and Wales. Today that register covers more than 86% of the land mass of England and Wales. It contains more than 25 million titles (the evidence of ownership) estimated to hold £4 trillion of property value and is one of the largest property databases in Europe. 

Located in the vibrant waterfront city of Plymouth, our environmentally friendly offices provide a great setting in which to work. Hundreds of miles of stunning coastline and 368 square miles of Dartmoor National Park are within easy reach. 

We’ll pay you an annual salary of £17,557. You’ll also get 28.5 days holidays (pro rata) plus bank holidays, a pension scheme, and benefits including interest-free bike and season ticket loans and gym discounts. You will work a five-day 37-hour week (excluding lunch breaks). We will also consider part-time applications, working a minimum of 30 hours per week over five days.  

What you’ll need: 

To apply for this apprenticeship, you’ll need to have five GCSEs at Grade 4 or C or above including Maths, English and ICT/Computer Science or a science or equivalent. You will be confident using computer software, including Microsoft Office and email. You will also need to be a team player with good communication skills, both in person and in writing. Crucially, we’ll expect you to be well organised and keen to learn and develop. 

As part of the application process, you will be required to complete two online tests (Verbal and Numerical Reasoning tests). You must be successful at each stage to progress to the next test. Please ensure you complete these by midday Tuesday 26 March 2019. If you do not complete the tests in the given timescale your application will not be taken forward. 

Please note some of these posts will be considered for Security Clearance and could be subject to further background checks.
