Salary will start at £73,365 with opportunities to progress within the role up to the maximum of £97,924 plus organisational bonus and personal bonus opportunity and highly competitive Civil Service pension.
You may also be eligible to claim relocation costs of up to £8,000.

As an Executive Agency of the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, one of the Met Office’s key aims is to translate deep science into social and economic benefit – helping UK businesses improve productivity, stimulating new markets and encouraging high-tech regional growth. We are now looking for a new Director of our Business Group. The holder of this job is responsible for the Met Office’s services to industry. These services help weather sensitive businesses to operate safely, efficiently and successfully, safeguarding critical infrastructure, enabling businesses to manage weather and climate risks, and protect lives
As a Director of the Business group you will set direction, lead and develop the services the Met Office provides to build appropriate commercial markets, to deliver the Met Office purpose and aim in industry. This includes aviation, surface transport, energy, infrastructure and retail, and covers both operational weather services as well as helping industry adapt to a changing climate.
Please note, when joining the Met Office all new employees will start on the salary band minimum.
This role will nominally be based at our Exeter HQ but we will consider applicants wishing to work elsewhere within the UK.
Developed Vetting (DV) maybe a requirement of this role at a later date.
